CPT Property Casualty Insurance Jobs
Property casualty insurance CPT roles span underwriting, claims analysis, actuarial support, and risk assessment, all fields where your DSO can authorize work as an integral curriculum component. Most employers filing Labor Condition Applications for these positions operate under standard DOL prevailing-wage requirements, and your CPT authorization must align with your enrolled program before you accept any offer.

Get Access To All JobsProperty Casualty Insurance CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Do property casualty insurance employers commonly authorize CPT for underwriting or claims roles?
Yes, mid-size and large carriers routinely hire F-1 students on CPT for underwriting support, claims analysis, and actuarial rotations. The role must connect directly to your enrolled program, so a finance, risk management, mathematics, or statistics degree typically supports the strongest CPT case. Your DSO makes the final authorization call, not the employer.
Can I work part-time on CPT while finishing my insurance coursework?
CPT can be authorized part-time (under 20 hours per week) or full-time (20 hours or more), but full-time CPT for 12 months or more eliminates your OPT eligibility entirely. For insurance roles that run a full academic year, part-time authorization protects your post-graduation work options. Confirm the exact hours with your DSO before accepting the offer.
How do I find property casualty insurance employers who are set up to hire F-1 CPT students?
Browse Migrate Mate to identify insurance employers with verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. LCA filings signal that an employer has already worked through prevailing-wage and work authorization processes, making them more likely to have HR staff familiar with CPT paperwork. This significantly reduces the back-and-forth during onboarding.
Is a property casualty insurance CPT role considered a specialty occupation for future H-1B purposes?
Underwriting, actuarial, risk analysis, and compliance roles in property casualty insurance generally qualify as specialty occupations because they require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. USCIS evaluates specialty occupation status at the time of H-1B visa petition, not during CPT, so your CPT authorization now doesn't guarantee future H-1B approval independently.
What documentation should I gather during my CPT role to support future visa applications?
Keep copies of your offer letter, I-20 with CPT authorization, weekly hour logs, pay stubs, and any performance reviews or project summaries your supervisor provides. USCIS may request evidence of prior work authorization and employment history when adjudicating future petitions. Actuarial credentialing bodies also require verified experience records, so thorough documentation serves dual purposes.
