Does a Director Of Revenue role qualify for CPT authorization?
Yes, if your degree program covers revenue management, hospitality analytics, finance, or business strategy and the role's duties directly relate to your enrolled coursework. Your DSO will review the job description against your program's learning outcomes. Roles at hotels, healthcare systems, and SaaS companies have all supported CPT approvals when the curriculum alignment is documented clearly.
Can I do CPT for a Director Of Revenue role while still completing my degree?
CPT must be an integral part of your curriculum, so you typically need to be enrolled in a course that credits or requires the practical experience. Full-time CPT is allowed but counts against your OPT eligibility if it exceeds 12 months. Part-time CPT, defined as 20 hours per week or fewer, does not affect your OPT balance regardless of duration.
What documents does my employer need to process my CPT?
Your employer needs your CPT-authorized I-20, which your DSO issues after approving the position. You'll also present your F-1 visa stamp and passport for I-9 verification. Unlike H-1B visa, there's no USCIS filing or employer petition required for CPT. The employer's primary obligation is completing I-9 and, if required by their contract type, enrolling in E-Verify.
How do I find Director Of Revenue jobs that are open to CPT students?
Search Migrate Mate for Director Of Revenue openings filtered by employers with work authorization filing history. This filters out companies that have never navigated F-1 work authorization, which dramatically reduces the friction you'll face during onboarding. Hospitality groups, healthcare revenue cycle departments, and growth-stage SaaS companies are common CPT-friendly sectors for this role.
Does CPT work experience as a Director Of Revenue count toward future H-1B sponsorship?
CPT experience counts as qualifying work experience that you can include on an H-1B petition to establish specialty occupation. Revenue director roles generally satisfy the bachelor's-degree-in-a-specific-specialty requirement under USCIS guidelines for business and management occupations. Document your duties, reporting structure, and quantifiable outcomes during CPT so you have strong evidence when your employer files the H-1B petition later.
