Many California employers also value certifications such as the HDI Customer Service Representative credential or a Certified Customer Experience Professional designation. Advancing into management typically starts in team lead or senior specialist roles within California's technology, financial services, or healthcare industries.
How much do customer service managements make in California?
Customer service managements in California earn a median of about $77,590 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $50,870 for the lowest 10% to over $121,650 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire customer service managements in California?
Employers hiring customer service managements in California right now include State Farm, Taco Bell, and GameStop, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of technology headquarters, regional bank operations, and large health systems means consistent, year-round demand for customer service management talent across the state.
Which California cities have the most customer service management jobs?
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego have the most customer service management openings in California. Los Angeles leads due to its size and the density of retail, entertainment, and financial services employers there, while San Francisco draws demand from technology companies and fintech firms, and San Diego reflects strong openings tied to its healthcare systems, defense contractors, and growing tech sector.
Are there remote customer service management jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 6% of customer service management openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how much of this role centers on digital communication, CRM oversight, and virtual team coordination rather than on-site presence. Customer success management and contact center director roles tend to have the highest share of fully remote postings.
How can I get hired as a customer service management in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a customer service representative or team lead role at a large California employer such as a regional bank, health plan, or technology company, then moving into an associate manager position within one to two years.
