Data Analyst Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analyst in Oklahoma?
Most data analyst positions in Oklahoma require at least a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, or business analytics, and no state-issued license is required for the role. Oklahoma employers most commonly value candidates who can demonstrate proficiency in SQL, Python or R, and a visualization tool like Tableau or Power BI. Building a portfolio of projects and targeting entry roles at Oklahoma's large energy companies, hospital systems, or state agencies is the most direct path to employment.
Which companies hire data analysts in Oklahoma?
Companies currently hiring data analysts in Oklahoma include CommunityCare, Continental Resources, and Airgas, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Oklahoma's energy sector, major health systems, and state government agencies are historically among the most consistent sources of data analyst openings in the state.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most data analyst jobs?
Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Oklahoma are the Oklahoma cities with the most data analyst openings, driven by the concentration of corporate headquarters, large hospital networks, and state government offices in Oklahoma City and by Tulsa's established energy industry and financial services firms that maintain significant data and analytics teams.

Yes, and more than most fields. About 11% of data analyst openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the work translates to distributed teams. Roles focused on reporting, business intelligence, and statistical modeling are the most likely to be offered with full or partial remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a data analyst in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting analyst associate or junior analyst roles at Oklahoma's large employers, where a strong portfolio of personal or academic projects can substitute for professional experience.
