SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – DATA CENTER ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION

Capitol City Electric is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager – Data Center Electrical Construction to lead complex electrical construction projects from planning through closeout while building strong relationships with field teams, customers, and project partners.

This role is responsible for the overall performance of assigned data center projects, including safety, scope, schedule, cost, procurement, change management, customer relationships, commissioning support, and financial results. The Senior Project Manager works closely with Foremen, General Foremen, Superintendents, Project Executives, and internal support teams to ensure the field has the information, materials, resources, and decisions needed to execute successfully.

The right person understands electrical construction, thrives in complex and fast-moving project environments, thinks ahead, communicates early, and takes ownership of both the details and the larger project outcome.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead data center electrical construction projects from preconstruction and startup through execution, commissioning, closeout, and turnover.
• Own project performance including safety, quality, schedule, budget, forecasting, billing, cash flow, and profitability.
• Partner closely with Foremen, General Foremen, and Superintendents to align field execution with project scope, schedule, labor plans, and financial goals.
• Develop project plans, priorities, and workflows that keep teams focused and work moving forward.
• Review drawings, specifications, one-lines, submittals, contracts, equipment requirements, and other project documents to understand scope and identify risks or gaps early.
• Coordinate procurement and tracking of electrical materials and equipment, including critical and long-lead equipment that can impact data center schedules.
• Monitor labor productivity, material usage, equipment costs, committed costs, and project forecasts.
• Identify project risks, constraints, schedule impacts, and opportunities early and lead the team in developing practical solutions.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pricing, documentation, and change negotiations.
• Lead customer, general contractor, and project meetings and clearly communicate project status, risks, needs, and required decisions.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other project partners.
• Coordinate effectively with Estimating, BIM/VDC, Prefabrication, Project Controls, Workforce, Safety, Accounting, and other CCE teams.
• Support planning and execution related to electrical distribution, equipment installation, testing, energization, commissioning, punch-list completion, and final turnover.
• Ensure project documentation, quality expectations, and turnover requirements are managed throughout the project rather than only at closeout.
• Mentor and develop Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers, helping build strong project-management capability across the team.
• Capture lessons learned and bring forward opportunities to improve CCE systems, processes, and future project execution.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Significant electrical construction project-management experience with responsibility for complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical construction means, methods, sequencing, field operations, and project delivery.
• Experience working in data center, mission-critical, industrial, or similarly complex electrical construction environments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, contracts, submittals, and project documentation.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, billing, cash flow, change management, and project profitability.
• Experience working closely with field leadership to manage labor, productivity, schedule, materials, equipment, and project constraints.
• Understanding of the planning, documentation, testing, commissioning, and turnover demands associated with complex electrical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risk, solve problems, make sound decisions, and communicate issues before they become larger problems.
• Strong customer relationship, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead through others, develop project-team members, and create clear expectations and accountability.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Approximately 7+ years of relevant electrical construction and project-management experience preferred.
• Previous experience leading projects with significant financial, scheduling, customer, procurement, and field coordination responsibility.
• Data center or mission-critical electrical construction experience strongly preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education, electrical construction experience, training, and demonstrated project-management capability will be considered.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
