Preferred Qualifications
- Hands on experience with building Machine Learning (ML) models such as classification, regression, time series, forecasting.
- Experience in a B2B or retail/supply chain would be highly preferred
- Experience with deploying models in public cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred, but AWS/Azure is fine)
- Experience in building ML Operation pipelines for model deployment, tracking, monitoring.
- Snowflake or Big query experience will be highly valuable
- SQL expertise
- Generative AI (GenAI) experience
- Knowledge of managed Cloud services like databases, message queues, Kubernetes clusters, docker, loadbalancers, etc is preferred.
Job Summary
Provides engineering expertise for application development activities, including configuring, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex software systems and application programs. Uses subject matter knowledge to lead and progress functional projects and provides training and guidance to application engineers.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
- Works with key stakeholders to perform application functionality gap analyses and feasibility studies for application enhancements.
- Provides input and guidance in the design and implementation of new applications, including consulting with functional architects on application design.
- Develops and documents complex and in-depth technical design specifications to meet business needs identified through application requirements, user stories, support tickets, and test defects.
- Assists with the development and definition of test plans and scripts for functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Ensures applications are compliant with security protocols and audit controls.
- Leads internal peer reviews and establishes engineering best practices.
- Evaluates, researches, and recommends software application upgrades, patches, and new functionalities.
- Provides guidance, training, and support to associates on engineering-related projects.

- Displays the highest level of critical thinking and analysis in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-departmental problems. Recommends service, product, or process improvements for complex problems that have significant business impact.
- Works with substantial latitude under indirect supervision. Situations usually have little or no precedent requiring new concepts or approaches without guidance from others. Reaches decisions and makes recommendations under conditions of uncertainty.
- Develops or engages/directs others in developing innovative solutions to important, highly complex strategic and operating problems. Leads large and complex project teams. Recognized as a subject matter expert within area of expertise.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 10+ years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.
