The Maryland Food Bank (MFB) is a nonprofit, anti-hunger organization whose mission is to feed people, strengthen communities, and end hunger for more Marylanders. MFB does this work by expanding access to nutritious food while also seeking to eliminate the root causes of hunger.
MFB distributes food through a statewide network of community-based organizations from Maryland’s western mountains to its Eastern Shore. Last year, the Maryland Food Bank distributed enough food to provide the equivalent of more than 41 million meals, or about 114,000 meals every day. This healthy food supports children, seniors, veterans, and hard-working families. Beyond food distribution, MFB works to end hunger for more Marylanders by offering job training programs, access to supportive services and benefits, and by advocating for changes to the laws, policies, and practices that create food insecurity for more than 1 in 3 Marylanders.
The Maryland Food Bank embraces a philosophy that recognizes and values diversity. Our goal is to attract, develop, retain, and promote a talented, diverse workforce in a culture where all employees can contribute to their fullest potential.

Candidates who can demonstrate experience translating data roadmaps into business outcomes get the most traction here. Building visibility through Baltimore's tech and analytics meetup community and targeting mid-size contractors with federal data mandates gives you a practical edge over applicants applying nationally.
Which companies hire data strategy leads in Baltimore?

Baltimore's employer mix skews toward large health systems, defense and civilian federal contractors, and regional financial institutions, all of which maintain dedicated data strategy functions.
Are there remote data strategy lead jobs in Baltimore?
Yes, data strategy lead roles are well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements given their analytical and advisory nature. About 78% of data strategy lead openings tied to Baltimore are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry flexibility for senior data roles. Stakeholder collaboration and leadership responsibilities often require at least occasional in-person presence at Baltimore or nearby D.C.-corridor offices.
How can I get a data strategy lead job in Baltimore with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Baltimore is moving through a data analyst or business intelligence analyst role at one of the city's large health systems or federal contractors, where structured mentorship and internal mobility are common. Roles on data governance or analytics engineering teams within those organizations often serve as the direct stepping stone to a lead position. Demonstrating familiarity with healthcare data standards or federal compliance frameworks gives candidates a concrete advantage with Baltimore's dominant employer types.
Which industries hire the most data strategy leads in Baltimore?
