Entry Level Dermatopathologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level dermatopathologist job?
Most entry level dermatopathologist positions look for candidates who have completed a pathology residency and, ideally, a dermatopathology fellowship. At this stage, employers pay close attention to your sign-out experience, the volume and variety of cases you have reviewed, and any research or publications in the field. Strong references from fellowship directors and demonstrated comfort with immunohistochemistry give candidates a clear edge.
Which companies hire entry level dermatopathologists?
Companies hiring entry level dermatopathologists right now include Quest Diagnostics, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of academic medical centers, regional hospital systems, independent dermatology practices, and commercial reference laboratories that need junior staff to support growing case volumes.
Are there remote entry level dermatopathologist jobs?
Yes, though remote roles represent a smaller share of openings than in many other specialties. About 0% of entry level dermatopathologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the growth of whole-slide digital pathology platforms that allow sign-out from off-site locations. Most fully remote positions still require occasional on-site presence for complex cases or quality review.
Are these new grad dermatopathologist jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior dermatopathologist roles. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it welcomes candidates with zero to two years of attending experience, accepts fellowship training in place of independent practice time, or explicitly notes that it will consider applicants who have recently completed their training. Internship rotations and case log documentation strengthen a new grad application considerably.
Which industries hire the most entry level dermatopathologists?
Entry Level dermatopathologist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Medical Devices, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they rely on consistent diagnostic throughput and benefit from bringing in junior dermatopathologists who can grow alongside established teams and expand capacity without the cost of senior-level recruitment.
