Entry Level Patient Service Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level patient service specialist job?
Focus on customer service experience from any setting, including retail, hospitality, or volunteer work, since employers at this level prioritize communication skills and a patient-centered attitude over a long work history. Highlighting any medical office exposure, familiarity with scheduling software, or coursework in healthcare administration gives your application a clear edge. Tailor your resume to each posting and emphasize your ability to stay calm under pressure.
Which companies hire entry level patient service specialists?
Companies hiring entry level patient service specialists right now include Select Medical, Labcorp, and Boston Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. At this experience level, the most active employers tend to be hospital systems, outpatient clinics, and large medical group practices that have ongoing front-desk and patient intake needs.
Are there remote entry level patient service specialist jobs?
Yes, though most patient service specialist roles are on-site given the nature of patient-facing work. About 0% of entry level patient service specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically focus on phone triage, virtual scheduling, or telehealth intake rather than in-person registration duties.
Are these new grad patient service specialist jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior patient service specialist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or clinical rotations toward the requirement, or accepts a strong customer service background in place of direct medical office time. Look for language like "no experience required" or "will train" as clear signals.
Which industries hire the most entry level patient service specialists?
Entry Level patient service specialist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because high patient volume, rapid staff turnover in front-desk roles, and ongoing clinic expansion create consistent openings that are well suited to candidates just starting out in healthcare administration.
