Entry Level Orthopedic Physical Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level orthopedic physical therapist job?
Entry level orthopedic physical therapist employers look for a completed DPT degree, an active state license, and documented clinical hours in musculoskeletal or orthopedic settings. Candidates who completed ortho-focused rotations, earned a residency spot, or hold a CSCS or OCS certification stand out at this stage. Tailoring your resume to highlight patient case variety and manual therapy skills gives you a concrete edge over other new graduates.
Which companies hire entry level orthopedic physical therapists?
Companies hiring entry level orthopedic physical therapists right now include Novant Health, Sanford Health, and Geisinger Health Plan, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, outpatient orthopedic clinics, hospital systems, and sports medicine groups tend to post the most new-grad-friendly openings, often pairing junior therapists with mentorship programs or residency tracks.
Are there remote entry level orthopedic physical therapist jobs?
Yes, though most orthopedic physical therapist roles are hands-on and clinic-based. About 0% of entry level orthopedic physical therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve telehealth consultations, remote care coordination, or hybrid administrative duties alongside in-person patient care shifts.
Are these new grad orthopedic physical therapist jobs?
Yes. The listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior orthopedic physical therapist roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts clinical rotations or internships toward the requirement, or explicitly invites candidates who are newly licensed. If a role asks for a DPT and a valid state license without requiring years of post-graduate practice, it fits the new grad category.
Which industries hire the most entry level orthopedic physical therapists?
Entry Level orthopedic physical therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they maintain high patient volumes, run structured onboarding for new graduates, and need licensed therapists who can grow into specialized orthopedic caseloads under experienced supervision.
