Entry Level Senior Medical Writer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level senior medical writer job?
Employers hiring at the entry level typically look for a degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or a related field, plus clear, accurate writing you can show in a portfolio. Regulatory writing samples, clinical summary excerpts, or even coursework projects demonstrate relevant skills. Familiarity with clinical trial terminology and FDA document conventions gives candidates a real edge at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level senior medical writers?
Companies hiring entry level senior medical writers right now include Precision Medicine, BioMarin Pharmaceutical, and Syneos Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, and medical communications agencies that bring new writers in and train them on house style and regulatory standards.
Are there remote entry level senior medical writer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and project type. About 25% of entry level senior medical writer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, making this a more flexible field than many scientific roles at the same experience level. Hybrid arrangements are common at larger life sciences companies, while smaller medical communications agencies often post fully remote junior positions.
Are these new grad senior medical writer jobs?
Yes, many of the listings here are new grad and junior roles that welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad posting typically says it accepts zero to two years of experience, values internships, co-ops, or graduate research writing, and does not require prior regulatory submissions. Look for language like 'entry level,' 'junior,' or 'training provided' to spot the most new-grad friendly openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level senior medical writers?
Entry Level senior medical writer roles concentrate in Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, Science & Research, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because they produce a high volume of clinical documents, regulatory submissions, and medical education content that requires trained writers who can learn house style quickly and grow within a structured editorial team.
