Many structural heart patients suffer from heart failure with limited options. Our Implantable Heart Failure Management (IHFM) business's AI, Product and Platforms organization is at the forefront of addressing these unmet patient needs through pioneering technology that enables early, targeted therapeutic intervention. Our innovative solutions are not just transforming patient care but also creating a unique and exciting environment for our team members. It is our driving force to help patients live longer and healthier lives. Join us and be part of our inspiring journey.
As an Application Developer, Business Systems, you independently design, build, and deliver moderately complex solutions across IHFM's web based business applications and Salesforce platform. You own features end to end, spanning front end, backend, APIs, and Salesforce, translating business requirements into working, scalable, well-tested applications, and you do it hands-on. Business Systems operates as a dedicated team parallel to the IHFM product development teams; its focus is the commercial and enterprise systems that run the business, not product or device software.
Based in Irvine, CA, you'll join a high-impact medtech innovation hub in the heart of Orange County, collaborating in person with cross-functional teams to shape patient-focused technology.
How you'll make an impact
- Design and build moderately complex full-stack features: React or Angular front ends, backend services, and REST API integrations
- Develop Salesforce solutions end to end: Apex, Lightning Web Components, flows, and integrations with external systems
- Own components and features from requirements through deployment and post-launch support
- Evaluate feasibility and design system specifications within architecture, quality, and security standards
- Write technical documentation and clear, tested code; conduct and respond to code reviews
- Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root-cause analysis across the web and Salesforce stacks
- Ensure work meets the SDLC, computer system validation (CSV), and 21 CFR Part 11 or GxP requirements appropriate to each system
What you'll need (Required):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on software development, including full-stack web development
- Proficiency with a modern front-end framework (React or Angular) and at least one backend language (e.g., Node.js, .NET/C#, Java, or Python)
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and integrations
- Hands-on Salesforce development experience (Apex, Lightning Web Components, or configuration)
- Strong debugging skills and command of version control and Agile delivery
What else we look for (Preferred):
- Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I, Administrator)
- Experience with SQL, ETL, or data integration
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with computer system validation (CSV), 21 CFR Part 11, or GxP
- MedTech, Life Sciences, or other regulated-industry experience

Developer Jobs in Irvine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a developer job in Irvine?
Focus your search on Irvine's technology and medtech employers, which cluster around the Irvine Spectrum and Research Park and hire developers across the full stack. Candidates with experience in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, or embedded systems stand out in this market. Applying directly to product-led companies in those districts, rather than staffing agencies, tends to yield faster traction for experienced developers.
Which companies hire developers in Irvine?
Irvine developer roles are posted by Edwards Lifesciences, Revelyst, and YPM and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Irvine's hiring base skews toward established technology firms, healthcare software companies, and financial services employers with large engineering headcounts.
Are there remote developer jobs in Irvine?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type. About 50% of developer openings tied to Irvine are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly desk-based development work has shifted. Backend, full-stack, and cloud engineering roles in Irvine's software and fintech sectors tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get a developer job in Irvine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Irvine is through junior or associate developer roles at the mid-size software and medtech firms in the Irvine Spectrum area, which hire earlier-career candidates more consistently than large enterprise employers. Internship programs at Irvine's technology companies and contract-to-hire roles posted by local staffing firms also provide a foot in the door. A portfolio with one or two completed projects relevant to healthcare technology or SaaS applications is the strongest differentiator for Irvine entry-level roles.
Which industries hire the most developers in Irvine?
Irvine developer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Irvine's role as a hub for cybersecurity, medical device software, and financial services technology drives consistent developer demand across those sectors throughout the year.
