Overview

We're looking for an experienced Full-Stack Shopify & Hydrogen Developer to join our team on a part-time basis and take an active role in the continued development, maintenance, and improvement of our e-commerce platform.

We are looking for a true developer who is comfortable working across both the front end and back end of a modern Shopify environment.

This is not an entry-level position or primarily a Shopify theme-design role. The ideal candidate will have hands-on professional experience with Shopify, Hydrogen, React/TypeScript, GitHub, SQL, APIs, headless commerce, and custom development.

What You'll Be Doing

You will work directly with our internal team to maintain and improve our e-commerce platform, develop new functionality, troubleshoot technical issues, integrate third-party systems, and continuously improve site performance and user experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop, maintain, and improve our Shopify Hydrogen/headless storefront
• Handle both front-end and back-end development
• Build new website features and custom functionality
• Develop reusable components using React and TypeScript
• Work with Shopify's Storefront API, Admin API, GraphQL, and other APIs
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party applications and services
• Develop custom solutions when existing Shopify apps do not meet our needs
• Troubleshoot front-end, back-end, API, integration, checkout, and production issues
• Maintain and improve existing code
• Optimize website speed, performance, Core Web Vitals, and overall user experience
• Ensure responsive functionality across desktop, tablet, and mobile
• Test and deploy new features and website updates
• Diagnose bugs and technical issues and implement reliable solutions
• Assist with high-traffic promotions, product launches, and e-commerce campaigns
• Work with our marketing, creative, e-commerce, and management teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve the website and technical infrastructure
• Maintain clean, scalable, organized, and well-documented code

• Proactive about identifying potential issues and recommending improvements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional web development experience preferred
• Professional Shopify development experience required
• Hands-on Shopify Hydrogen experience required
• Strong React and JavaScript/TypeScript experience
• Strong understanding of both front-end and back-end development
• Professional Git/GitHub experience
• Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
• Portfolio demonstrating previous development work
• Previous experience working on established e-commerce websites required

Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
