Director Field Sales Jobs in Alaska: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a director field sales in Alaska?
Most director field sales roles in Alaska require a bachelor's degree in business or a related field combined with several years of progressive field sales and team leadership experience. Alaska does not issue a state-specific license for this role, so employers focus on documented revenue performance and management history. Candidates who have led sales teams serving Alaska's energy, resource extraction, or industrial sectors are particularly competitive, and an MBA strengthens candidacy for larger enterprise roles.
How much do director field saleses make in Alaska?
Director field saleses in Alaska earn a median of about $98,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $70,370 for the lowest 10% to over $171,700 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director field saless in Alaska?
Alaska director field sales roles are posted by Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, bp, and GCI and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Alaska's concentration of energy, telecommunications, and regional distribution companies means hiring tends to cluster around large-footprint employers with statewide field operations.
Which Alaska cities have the most director field sales jobs?
Anchorage, Palmer, and Prudhoe Bay have the most director field sales openings in Alaska. Anchorage dominates as the state's commercial and logistics hub, home to the regional headquarters of energy services and telecommunications firms, while Fairbanks and Juneau draw postings from resource extraction operations and state government contractors with active field sales functions in those regions.
Are there remote director field sales jobs in Alaska?
Yes, but they're rare. Director field sales is fundamentally a field-facing leadership role that requires in-person client engagement and team oversight across territory. About 10% of director field sales openings tied to Alaska are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve the strategic planning and reporting functions of the role rather than hands-on territory management.
How can I get hired as a director field sales in Alaska with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is building a record as an individual field sales contributor at an Alaska-based energy services, industrial distribution, or telecommunications company before stepping into a management track. Employers such as Doyon Limited and regional industrial distributors headquartered in Anchorage regularly promote from within. Moving from an account executive or territory manager role into a sales team lead position is the most common lateral step, and candidates who earn a Certified Professional Sales Leader credential strengthen their case for early promotion into director-level openings.
Where can I find and apply to director field sales jobs in Alaska?
You can find and apply to director field sales jobs in Alaska on Migrate Mate, which lists current Alaska openings updated regularly. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your experience and target industry, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
