Director Field Sales Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a director field sales in Hawaii?
Most director field sales roles in Hawaii require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with several years of field sales and sales management experience. Hawaii does not require a state-issued license for general sales leadership roles, so the path centers on building a record of territory management, team leadership, and revenue growth, ideally within industries prominent in Hawaii such as hospitality, healthcare, or consumer distribution.
How much do director field saleses make in Hawaii?
Director field saleses in Hawaii earn a median of about $116,340 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,290 for the lowest 10% to over $218,870 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire director field saless in Hawaii?
Employers hiring director field saless in Hawaii right now include Hawaiian Telcom, SOSi, and Xerox, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's concentration of hospitality, healthcare, and distribution companies means many of these employers are looking for leaders who understand the unique logistics and relationship dynamics of operating across island markets.
Which Hawaii cities have the most director field sales jobs?
The cities with the most director field sales openings in Hawaii are Honolulu, Hawaii, and Oahu Island. Honolulu dominates because it is home to the state's largest corporate offices, healthcare systems, and hospitality headquarters, while Maui and Hilo attract openings tied to resort and regional distribution operations that require dedicated field sales leadership outside the capital.
Are there remote director field sales jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're rare. About 15% of director field sales openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on, relationship-driven nature of field sales leadership. The portions of the role most likely to be done remotely are strategic planning, reporting, and internal sales meetings, while client visits and team oversight typically require an in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a director field sales in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a director role by first excelling as a territory sales manager or senior account executive within a Hawaii-based company. Large employers such as Kaiser Permanente Hawaii and established hospitality groups often promote from within and value candidates who have completed associate or regional manager rotations. Building experience in adjacent roles like sales operations or key account management, and earning a Certified Professional Sales Leader credential, significantly strengthens a director-level application in Hawaii's relatively tight market.
Where can I find and apply to director field sales jobs in Hawaii?
