Field Service Manager Jobs in Hawaii: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a field service manager in Hawaii?
Most field service managers in Hawaii move up from senior technician or team lead roles after building hands-on experience in their industry. A bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a technical discipline strengthens your candidacy, though many employers prioritize proven field experience. For roles in electrical or HVAC systems, holding a Hawaii contractor license through the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs adds meaningful credibility and is sometimes required.
How much do field service managers make in Hawaii?
Field service managers in Hawaii earn a median of about $87,550 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $55,750 for the lowest 10% to over $133,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire field service managers in Hawaii?
Hawaii field service manager roles are posted by SOSi, Xerox, and Cummins and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hawaii's concentration of defense contractors, utility providers, and telecommunications companies makes it a consistent source of field service management openings year-round.
Which Hawaii cities have the most field service manager jobs?
Honolulu, Hawaii, and Kapolei are the cities with the most field service manager openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates because it houses the state's largest defense installations, utility headquarters, and telecommunications infrastructure, while Kahului and Hilo reflect regional demand driven by utility expansion and facilities operations serving Maui and the Big Island respectively.
Are there remote field service manager jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're rare. About 9% of field service manager openings tied to Hawaii are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how hands-on the role typically is. The parts of the role most likely to go remote are administrative functions like scheduling, reporting, and vendor coordination rather than the core site supervision duties.
How can I get hired as a field service manager in Hawaii with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a field technician or service coordinator with an established Hawaii employer like Hawaiian Telcom, Hawaiian Electric, or a defense subcontractor on Oahu. These organizations regularly promote from within and hire associate-level technicians without management experience. Lateral moves from dispatcher, operations coordinator, or maintenance technician roles build the scheduling and team oversight skills hiring managers look for. Earning a Hawaii contractor license through the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs or a relevant vendor certification accelerates advancement significantly.
Where can I find and apply to field service manager jobs in Hawaii?
You can find and apply to field service manager jobs in Hawaii on Migrate Mate, which lists current Hawaii openings. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to each one.
