SUMMARY
The Director of Player Personnel works in coordination with the Special Assistant and the Head Coach to oversee and manage the internal needs and services of student-athletes.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Provide individual and group mentoring to student-athletes to support their personal, academic, and athletic growth.
- Develop customized player development plans, analyze player strengths and weaknesses, design and deliver targeted training drills to improve technical skills, athleticism, and game strategy.
- Player performance tracking, monitor progress through data analysis and film review.
- Foster relationships with student-athletes to ensure they are prepared for success beyond college basketball, whether in professional sports or other career paths.
- Monitor pre-season conditioning and training of team members.
- Academic Liaison, track academic progress of student-athletes.
- Serve as a mentor to student-athletes in athletic, academic, personal, and disciplinary affairs.
- Liaison with Strength and Conditioning.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to integrate player development strategies into team practices and game plans.
- Serve as an ambassador of the University and its Athletics Department at all public entities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- As a member of the Murray State University Athletic Department, you shall comply with all applicable NCAA rules and regulations as provided in the NCAA Division I Manual. If you are found in violation of NCAA regulations, you shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures, including suspension without pay or termination of employment for significant or repetitive violations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work well with students, faculty, and staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with intercollegiate sports teams, or as a college athlete preferred.
