Associate Director, Strategic Recruitment

$67,706 - $81,392
Basic Function:
Lead strategic recruitment initiatives focused primarily on those students interested in the Honors experience at Kent State University. Promote the Honors experience to prospective students and aid in their admission and honors application submission and subsequent yield. Provide significant management and professional support to admitting units to ensure a transformative student experience in all recruitment efforts both on and off campus. In collaboration with colleagues in admissions, the College of Honors and Global Education, and across the university and community, develop innovative recruitment initiatives to support the goals of the enrollment goals of the institution. Reports to Associate Vice President, Enrollment Management, Admissions.
Examples of Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Lead collaborative efforts with colleagues in the College of Honors and Global Education, admissions, and enrollment management to support the recruitment and yield of honors students.
- Lead collaborative efforts with colleagues in enrollment management and university marketing and communications to create recruitment messaging via direct mail, email, and social media for honors students and their influencers.
- Develop strategic plans to include outreach, recruitment, yield and assessment for specific populations; including implementing and overseeing recruitment programs for honors students, such as on campus visit events and off campus programs to attract applications and increase enrollment for these populations.
- Serve as an influencer and collaborator in honors admission strategy and selection.
- Serve as a territory manager for an assigned recruitment territory.
- Assist associate vice president and directors in the development of goals specific to areas of oversight with a detailed assessment plan.
- Build and sustain partnerships with university and community partners that focus primarily on engagement with community-based organizations, secondary school teachers, and other external partners.
- Travel on behalf of the University for recruitment activities and other related events.
- Speak publicly and present information to individuals and groups on and off campus.
- Review applications and make admission decisions.
- Manage and oversee programs and/or projects for enrollment activities on or off campus (honors recruitment plan, outreach and engagement strategic plan, recruitment plan, CRM operations).
- Provide and analyze information for management purposes by producing reports as needed utilizing familiarity with student databases and using query tools.
- Assist with the development, maintenance, and execution of the department’s early outreach, access, and community engagement plans regarding all campus events on or off campus.
- Serve on university, division, and department committees as appropriate.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree. Four years of progressively responsible admissions experience.
License/Certification:
None.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree. Experience working in an honors college and with honors students.

Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM or otherwise discussed with your supervisor.
