Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Chief People Officer
Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
U.S. consular officers assess whether your degree field directly supports the CPO role. A business or HR degree strengthens your case; a general arts degree may require supporting documentation showing its direct relevance to people leadership.
Target companies with existing HR leadership pipelines
Focus on U.S. employers who have previously sponsored senior HR or people operations roles. DOL's LCA disclosure data shows certified applications by job title, so you can verify whether a company has filed for comparable positions before approaching them.
Negotiate LCA filing into your offer timeline
The Labor Condition Application must be DOL-certified before you can apply for your E-3 visa. When negotiating your start date, build in at least two to three weeks for LCA certification so your consulate appointment isn't delayed by incomplete employer paperwork.
Prepare an organisational chart showing your reporting structure
Consular officers frequently scrutinise executive-level E-3 applications for specialty occupation evidence. A clear org chart showing you report directly to the CEO or board, combined with your job description, addresses the most common documentation gaps for CPO applicants.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA preparation, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment readiness end-to-end. For a CPO role where your employer may have no prior E-3 experience, having a dedicated filing expert reduces errors that delay your start date.
Clarify your E-3 renewal cycle with your employer upfront
The E-3 renews every two years and requires a new LCA each time. Confirming your employer understands this before you sign means you won't face a gap in authorisation mid-contract, which is a common oversight at companies new to Australian visa sponsorship.

Find Chief People Officer JobsChief People Officer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Chief People Officer jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. CPO positions are senior enough that not every employer will have prior E-3 experience, so filtering for companies with a history of sponsoring executive HR roles saves significant time in your search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Chief People Officer role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, in most cases. A CPO role qualifies as a specialty occupation when the position normally requires a bachelor's degree or higher in human resources, organisational psychology, or a directly related field. Generic executive roles that accept any degree may face greater scrutiny, so your offer letter's stated education requirement matters considerably.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Chief People Officer candidates?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there is no lottery and no April registration window. An H-1B requires winning a random lottery before you can even file. For Australian CPO candidates, the E-3 means you can move from offer to visa appointment on a predictable timeline rather than waiting to see if you were selected.
What happens to my E-3 status if the CPO role is eliminated or the company is acquired?
Your E-3 status is tied to your employer and your approved role. If your position is eliminated or substantially changed, your current E-3 authorisation no longer applies. You have a 60-day grace period to find a new sponsoring employer and file a fresh LCA. A company acquisition does not automatically invalidate your status, but a change in legal employer entity typically requires a new filing.
