Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Event Planner
Align your degree to the role description
E-3 requires your qualification to match the specialty occupation. A degree in hospitality management, marketing, or business administration supports most Event Planner petitions better than a general arts degree does.
Target employers with dedicated events teams
Hotels, convention centers, corporate firms, and universities run in-house event functions that file LCAs regularly. These employers already understand the sponsorship process and are less likely to withdraw an offer over paperwork unfamiliarity.
Request a conditional offer before the LCA is filed
Your employer files the LCA with DOL before your consulate appointment. Securing a written conditional offer first gives both sides a clear record of the role, wage level, and start date before any government filing begins.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
Event Planner LCAs require the employer to certify prevailing wage compliance for your specific location and role. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages that process end-to-end, from DOL submission through consulate appointment preparation.
Confirm the employer's E-Verify status early
Some large hospitality groups and federal contractors are required to use E-Verify. Asking about this before accepting an offer prevents delays at the I-9 stage, which can affect your start date even after the visa is approved.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions at the consulate
Event Planner roles can involve long-term client relationships that consular officers may scrutinize as evidence of immigrant intent. Bring documentation showing your Australian ties and the fixed-term, project-based nature of your U.S. role where possible.

Find Event Planner JobsEvent Planner E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Event Planner jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles that support E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see employers with relevant hiring activity, which is far more targeted than searching general job boards where sponsorship willingness is rarely disclosed upfront.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Event Planner role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as event management, hospitality, marketing, or business. Job postings that list a degree as preferred rather than required can undermine the specialty occupation argument, so the offer letter wording matters significantly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian Event Planners?
The E-3 has a 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there is no lottery and no random selection risk. The H-1B requires registration in an oversubscribed annual lottery with no guarantee of selection. For Australian nationals, the E-3 is a direct, predictable path that the H-1B simply cannot offer.
Can I change Event Planner employers after arriving on an E-3?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA filed with DOL and a new visa stamp if you travel internationally. You can begin working for the new employer once the LCA is certified and the employer has the documentation ready, but you cannot rely on your previous employer's approval for the new role.
