Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship in Director Of Technical Program Management
Align your credentials to U.S. specialty occupation standards
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member evaluator before your first interview so employers aren't caught off guard during the LCA stage.
Target companies with active LCA filing histories
Search DOL's OFLC disclosure database for employers who have filed LCAs for Technical Program Management or Program Director roles. Prior filings signal the hiring team already understands the E-3 process and won't stall at the sponsorship conversation.
Frame sponsorship early in the offer negotiation
Director-level offers often involve extended negotiation. Raise your E-3 status before the offer letter is drafted so legal and HR can initiate the LCA with the DOL before your start date is set. Waiting until after signing delays your timeline unnecessarily.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork
At the Director level, your employer's legal team may be unfamiliar with E-3 filings versus H-1B visa. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from LCA submission to consulate appointment, removing the burden from an HR team that may have never filed one before.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation thoroughly
Consular officers scrutinize Director-level roles because the title can imply broad management duties that don't always map cleanly to a single degree field. Bring a detailed job description, an org chart showing technical scope, and documentation tying your degree directly to the technical requirements of the role.
Understand how E-3 handles program director contract work
If your Director role involves a third-party client site or is structured as a contract engagement, your E-3 must still list the petitioning employer as the primary worksite on the LCA. USCIS and DOL treat co-employment arrangements differently for E-3 than for H-1B, so confirm your employer's legal structure before the offer is finalized.
E-3 Visa Director Of Technical Program Management: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Director of Technical Program Management jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter by job title and see which employers have a history of supporting E-3 filings, so you're not spending time on applications where sponsorship isn't a realistic outcome for this role.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Director of Technical Program Management role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, provided the role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. Generic management duties alone won't satisfy the specialty occupation definition, so your job description must clearly articulate the technical degree requirement as a genuine prerequisite, not a preference.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Director of Technical Program Management roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500-annual allocation that has never been fully used, so there's no lottery and no wait. The H-1B requires entering a randomized selection process each April, and cap-subject applicants can wait over a year before starting. For Director-level roles where timing and continuity matter, the E-3 eliminates that uncertainty entirely.
What happens to my E-3 status if I'm promoted or change program portfolios within the same company?
A significant change in duties, title, or work location may require a new LCA filing with the DOL even within the same employer. Minor scope changes within the same job classification typically don't trigger a new filing, but a promotion to VP or a shift in core technical responsibilities usually does. Confirm the change with your employer's immigration counsel before it takes effect.
