Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Transportation Project Manager
Translate your credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in civil or construction engineering are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a DOL-recognized agency before your first interview so employers don't stall on the sponsorship question.
Target infrastructure-focused employers with active LCA histories
Search DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to find firms that have sponsored transportation or project management roles before. Employers already familiar with LCA filing are far less likely to withdraw an offer when they see the E-3 paperwork.
Address E-3 sponsorship in your cover letter directly
Don't wait for the interview to raise your visa status. One clear sentence stating you're an Australian citizen eligible for E-3 sponsorship with no lottery requirement removes the most common reason hiring managers pass on international candidates.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after your offer
Once you have a signed offer letter, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The service manages DOL certification, consulate preparation, and document review so your start date doesn't slip while paperwork sits unresolved.
Confirm specialty occupation framing with your employer
Transportation Project Manager job descriptions vary widely. Make sure your offer letter and employer documentation describe the role as requiring a specific bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field. Generic project management language without a degree requirement can trigger USCIS scrutiny.
Search roles on Migrate Mate for verified E-3 sponsorship
Finding Transportation Project Manager openings is straightforward, but confirming which employers will sponsor E-3 visas is harder. Migrate Mate filters roles by confirmed E-3 sponsorship so you're not spending interview rounds on employers who'll decline at the offer stage.
E-3 Visa Transportation Project Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Transportation Project Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find Transportation Project Manager roles where the employer has confirmed E-3 sponsorship. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you can spend weeks in interview processes only to find the employer won't sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces roles specifically matched to E-3 eligibility so you can focus on positions that will actually result in an offer.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Transportation Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, provided the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, transportation planning, or a closely related field. The key is that a generic bachelor's in any discipline isn't sufficient. Your offer letter and the employer's documentation must establish that the role's duties require a degree in a defined technical discipline, not just any four-year degree.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Transportation Project Manager roles in the U.S.?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap on approvals, which means an Australian professional with a qualifying offer can apply at any point in the year and begin work as soon as the visa is issued. The H-1B requires entering a randomized lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection rate for most applicants, and successful registrants can't start until October 1 of that fiscal year. For transportation and infrastructure roles, the E-3 timeline is significantly more predictable.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for an E-3 application?
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for the role and location. They also need to provide a formal offer letter describing the position, the required qualifications, and your start date. You don't need to file a petition with USCIS for consular E-3 applications. The certified LCA and offer letter are the two core employer documents you'll present at your consulate interview.
