Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Facilities Project Manager
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires your degree field to directly align with facilities project management. A construction management, civil engineering, or architecture degree strengthens your case. A general business degree alone may require supporting documentation showing field-specific coursework.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Facilities roles are filed across real estate, healthcare, higher education, and corporate campuses. Search DOL's Labor Condition Application disclosure data to identify which industries and regions file E-3 visa LCAs for project management titles before you apply.
Distinguish E-3 from H-1B when briefing hiring managers
Many facilities directors assume sponsorship means H-1B lottery risk. Clarify upfront that your E-3 requires no lottery, has a dedicated 10,500-slot annual allocation, and typically clears consulate processing within weeks of an approved LCA.
Request LCA filing before your start date is set
Your employer must file the LCA with DOL and receive certification before you can attend your consulate appointment. Build at least three to four weeks into your start date negotiation to account for DOL processing and consulate scheduling.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end preparation
Facilities Project Manager petitions often involve third-party worksites, which require careful LCA documentation. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA preparation, visa paperwork, and consulate appointment prep so nothing falls through in a complex employment arrangement.
Prepare a project portfolio aligned to U.S. standards
U.S. facilities employers evaluate candidates on budget ownership, contractor management, and compliance with OSHA and local building codes. Translate your Australian project credentials into U.S.-equivalent scope descriptions before interviews to accelerate sponsorship decisions.
E-3 Visa Facilities Project Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Facilities Project Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by E-3 sponsorship eligibility so you're not wasting time on positions where the employer won't support visa filing. Facilities management roles with sponsorship are concentrated in corporate real estate, healthcare systems, universities, and large property management firms, so filtering by industry accelerates your search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Facilities Project Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field such as construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or architecture. Roles where any bachelor's degree is accepted regardless of field are harder to qualify. Your employer's job posting and internal requirements documentation need to reflect the specific degree requirement clearly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Facilities Project Manager positions?
The E-3 has no lottery, a separate annual allocation of 10,500 slots that has never been exhausted, and can be filed directly for consulate processing without a cap-subject registration period. H-1B requires lottery selection, which runs approximately 25 to 30 percent odds in recent years. For Australian facilities professionals, the E-3 is a faster, more reliable path with equivalent specialty occupation criteria.
Can I change employers or project sites while on an E-3 as a Facilities Project Manager?
Changing employers requires a new LCA and a new visa stamp or amended petition before you start with the new company. Moving between project sites under the same employer is generally covered if the LCA lists multiple worksites or uses a blanket worksite designation. Facilities roles that involve frequent site rotations should have the LCA structured at filing to reflect that arrangement.
