E-3 Visa Project Specialist Jobs
Project Specialist roles in program coordination, stakeholder management, and delivery oversight qualify as E-3 specialty occupations when tied to a relevant bachelor's degree. Australian professionals can secure E-3 visa sponsorship without entering a lottery, and the visa renews indefinitely as long as you hold a qualifying position.

Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Project Specialist
Frame your degree as field-specific
Consular officers assess whether your degree directly relates to project management or a domain your role operates in. A business, engineering, or IT degree strengthens your case more than a general arts qualification, even with equivalent work history.
Target employers with active LCA filings
Search the DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify employers who have previously filed LCAs for Project Specialist or related titles. Prior LCA activity signals a sponsor who already understands the E-3 process.
Distinguish project management from general management
USCIS applies stricter scrutiny to management roles. Your offer letter and job description must emphasize technical deliverables, methodology frameworks, and degree-specific knowledge rather than broad supervisory duties, which don't satisfy the specialty occupation standard.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA
Your employer files the LCA with DOL before your consular appointment, and delays here stall everything. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so the timeline stays on track from offer through consulate.
Clarify the visa timeline before accepting an offer
The E-3 requires a consular appointment in Australia, not a USCIS petition, so your start date depends on appointment availability. Negotiate a start date at least four to six weeks after your offer acceptance to allow for LCA certification and scheduling.
Prepare a credential equivalency statement for three-year degrees
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees are generally accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 purposes, but some employers' legal teams flag them. Have a written equivalency statement ready to prevent your LCA from stalling at the employer review stage.

Find Project Specialist JobsProject Specialist E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Project Specialist jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search on Migrate Mate, which filters Project Specialist roles by employers willing to sponsor the E-3 visa. Standard job boards don't let you filter by visa sponsorship type, so you end up cold-approaching employers who may never have heard of the E-3. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Project Specialist role qualify as an E-3 specialty occupation?
Yes, but the job description matters. A Project Specialist role qualifies when it requires a specific bachelor's degree in a field like business, engineering, IT, or a relevant domain, and when the duties involve applying specialised knowledge rather than general coordination. Roles described as purely administrative or supervisory without degree requirements are harder to support.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Project Specialist roles in the U.S.?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, has no lottery, and can be applied for at any time of year through a consular appointment. The H-1B is capped at 85,000 annually with a lottery that runs once per year. For Project Specialist roles, the E-3 is a far more predictable path because your timeline depends on appointment availability, not random selection.
Can I switch Project Specialist employers while on an E-3 visa?
Yes, but you can't simply transfer the visa. Your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL, and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp reflecting the updated employer and role. If you're already in the U.S., you can begin work once the new LCA is certified and your documents are in order, without needing to return to Australia first, provided your current status is valid.
