Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
Consulting spans strategy, operations, finance, and technology. USCIS evaluates each role independently, so match your degree field directly to the engagement type, a finance-focused consultant needs economics or accounting credentials, not a general business degree.
Target firms with active LCA filing history
Firms that have filed Labor Condition Applications before understand the DOL certification process. Focus on consulting practices that regularly sponsor non-citizen professionals, they won't need educating on E-3 visa mechanics before extending an offer.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the full process
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA preparation, DOL submission, DS-160 completion, and consulate appointment preparation, so neither you nor your employer loses time navigating unfamiliar paperwork.
Address client-site work in your LCA documentation
Management consultants often work at client locations, not the sponsoring employer's address. Your LCA must list the correct worksite. If placements rotate, your employer should file an amended LCA before each new client engagement begins.
Negotiate visa filing before your start date
E-3 consular appointments in Sydney and Melbourne can book out several weeks. Build at least six to eight weeks between your signed offer and your target start date so LCA certification and consulate scheduling don't create gaps in your availability.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters job listings by E-3 visa sponsorship availability, so you're only seeing management consultant roles where the employer has already indicated willingness to sponsor Australian nationals through the E-3 process.
E-3 Visa Management Consultant: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find management consultant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search, it filters roles specifically by E-3 sponsorship availability, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Management consultant openings appear across strategy, operations, and technology practices at both boutique firms and large consulting groups.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a management consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. USCIS requires that the role normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Management consulting qualifies when the position involves specialized analysis, structured methodology, or domain expertise tied to your degree, finance consulting backed by an economics degree, for example. Generalist roles with no defined academic requirement can face scrutiny.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for management consultant roles?
The E-3 has no annual lottery, no cap, and no registration fee. For Australian consultants, that means you can apply directly after receiving an offer rather than waiting for a lottery result in April. H-1B visa requires cap registration, a selection lottery, and a later start date. E-3 processing through a U.S. consulate can get you authorized within weeks of your offer.
What happens to my E-3 status if I move between consulting clients or engagements?
Your E-3 is tied to your sponsoring employer, not the end client. Changing consulting firms requires a new E-3 application. Rotating between client sites under the same employer is permitted, but your employer should update your Labor Condition Application if the worksite address changes materially, since DOL requires an accurate worksite on the certified LCA.
