Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Project Site Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in construction management or civil engineering are accepted as equivalent to U.S. four-year degrees for E-3 visa specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member agency before applying so employers aren't stalled by unfamiliar qualifications.
Target general contractors with active federal projects
Firms holding federal construction contracts are often registered with E-Verify and already navigate prevailing wage rules under Davis-Bacon, making them familiar with DOL-certified LCA requirements that E-3 sponsorship also demands. This overlap reduces friction in the offer process.
Clarify multi-site work arrangements before accepting an offer
Project Site Managers frequently move between job sites. Each worksite location must be covered by a posted LCA, so confirm with your prospective employer whether they'll file separate LCA amendments or a blanket certification before you finalize your employment terms.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and consulate prep
Once you have a signed offer letter, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA submission to DOL, prepare your DS-160, and manage consulate documentation so your start date isn't delayed by paperwork errors or missing prevailing wage evidence.
Confirm specialty occupation standing for hybrid management roles
If your role blends site supervision with general business management duties, USCIS scrutinizes whether a specific degree field is a standard requirement. Ask the employer to document in the offer letter that a degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture is required, not merely preferred.
Time your consulate appointment around project mobilization windows
Australian consulates in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth process E-3 applications at interview, but appointment availability varies by several weeks across locations. Book your appointment as soon as the certified LCA is returned by DOL to avoid missing a scheduled project start date.
E-3 Visa Project Site Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Project Site Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Search Migrate Mate to find Project Site Manager roles at U.S. employers with active E-3 sponsorship history. Construction firms, infrastructure developers, and engineering consultancies frequently sponsor E-3 workers in site management roles. Filtering by employers familiar with the LCA and DOL prevailing wage process saves time compared to targeting companies with no sponsorship track record.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Project Site Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the employer requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a closely related field as a standard condition of employment. Roles where any degree field is acceptable, or where extensive experience substitutes for a specific degree, are harder to qualify. The offer letter and job description should explicitly state the degree requirement.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Project Site Managers?
The E-3 is available exclusively to Australian citizens and has no annual lottery, no cap to exhaust, and no registration fee. You can apply directly at an Australian consulate after your employer obtains a certified LCA from DOL. The H-1B process requires entering a lottery with roughly one-in-four selection odds. For Australians, the E-3 is a direct path that H-1B holders from other countries don't have access to.
Can I change employers or projects while on an E-3 as a Site Manager?
You can change employers, but the new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need to obtain a new E-3 visa stamp at an Australian consulate before starting work, unless you're inside the U.S. and can file a change of status. Multi-site assignments under the same employer are permissible if the LCA covers those worksite locations or is amended to include them.
