Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Technical Program Manager
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a four-year U.S. degree for E-3 purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a USCIS-recognized evaluator before interviews so you can answer degree questions confidently.
Target employers with existing LCA filing history
TPM roles at companies that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications with the DOL move faster because their HR and legal teams already know the E-3 process. Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to verify a company's LCA track record before applying.
Reframe sponsorship as a business case in interviews
E-3 sponsorship costs employers significantly less than H-1B in fees and has no lottery risk, so the objection you'll face isn't cost, it's unfamiliarity. Bring a one-page summary of E-3 requirements to your offer negotiation so hiring managers can brief their legal team accurately.
Align your job description with DOL's specialty occupation definition
The LCA requires the TPM role to meet DOL's specialty occupation standard. Review the job posting before your offer is finalized and flag any language like 'bachelor's preferred' rather than 'required,' which can trigger a DOL challenge at the LCA stage.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the LCA and consulate prep
After receiving a written offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA filing with the DOL and prepare your DS-160 and consulate documents. A dedicated E-3 expert manages the process end-to-end, so your start date isn't delayed by paperwork errors.
Plan your consulate appointment around your notice period
E-3 visa interviews at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth can have varying wait times. Book your appointment immediately after your employer's LCA is certified rather than waiting until you've resigned, so your start date aligns with your consulate slot.

Find Technical Program Manager JobsTechnical Program Manager E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Technical Program Manager jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals searching for U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship. You can filter Technical Program Manager positions by companies with active sponsorship history, saving the time you'd otherwise spend cold-screening employers who aren't familiar with the E-3 process.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Technical Program Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, Technical Program Manager roles typically qualify because they require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information systems. The key is that the job posting and offer letter must specify a degree requirement, not just a preference. If the role description is vague, ask the employer to tighten the language before the LCA is filed with the DOL.
How does the E-3 visa compare to H-1B for Technical Program Manager roles?
The E-3 has no annual cap and no lottery, so you're not competing for one of 85,000 slots each April. Your employer files an LCA with the DOL and you apply directly at the U.S. consulate in Australia, which means the timeline from offer to start date can be weeks rather than months. H-1B requires lottery selection first, then a lengthy USCIS adjudication before you can begin work.
Can I change employers or roles while on an E-3 visa as a Technical Program Manager?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with the DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp for the new role. There's no H-1B-style portability that lets you transfer status automatically. If you're changing jobs within the U.S., plan for the consulate appointment timeline and confirm whether your current E-3 stamp's validity allows re-entry before resigning.
