By combining deep regulatory expertise with a focus on operational excellence and innovation, Product Compliance enables the efficient delivery of compliant products while safeguarding the company’s reputation and managing regulatory risk.
Role Overview
The Lead Product Compliance Consultant is responsible for overseeing compliance activities related to Life Insurance products, including policy form drafting, regulatory filings, implementation support and ongoing regulatory compliance. Serving as a key compliance representative across cross-functional initiatives, this role partners closely with Product, Legal, Compliance, Government Affairs, Underwriting, Service and Technology teams to ensure compliance requirements are effectively integrated into product development and operational processes.
This position provides regulatory guidance throughout the product lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation and post-launch support. The successful candidate will help mitigate regulatory risk, maintain compliance standards and support the organization’s reputation for regulatory excellence.
- Provide regulatory guidance during product development by representing Product Compliance in core project teams and cross-functional meetings, influencing product design and implementation decisions.
- Draft and maintain policy forms, applications, riders, endorsements and disclosures while leading form development discussions and coordinating regulatory filing strategies with Product, Legal, Actuarial and Service teams.
- Manage and support regulatory filings through SERFF, including coordinating submissions, conducting due diligence reviews, tracking filing progress, and responding to regulatory questions, objections and comments.
- Partner with business stakeholders to facilitate implementation activities, provide required forms and participate in pre-launch and post-launch testing to ensure accurate and timely deployment of product and new business forms.
- Evaluate legislative and regulatory developments in collaboration with Corporate Compliance and the Office of Governmental Affairs, assessing potential impacts to products, forms and business processes while identifying opportunities to improve compliance processes through innovation and technology, including AI-enabled solutions.

- Proven project leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, influence stakeholders and drive initiatives to completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to technical, business and leadership audiences.
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting Long-Term Care (LTC) and/or Individual Disability Insurance (IDI) products.

Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's Foreign Labor Application Gateway for employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for Team Lead or management roles. Prior LCA filings confirm the employer already understands the E-3 process and won't need educating.
Address the specialty occupation question directly
Not every Team Lead role automatically qualifies as a specialty occupation. Roles tied to a specific technical or professional field, engineering, software, finance, have a stronger case than general supervisory positions. Confirm the job description references a degree-requiring discipline before applying.
Negotiate who covers the government filing fees
E-3 employer costs are lower than H-1B visa, but the LCA and consular fees still fall on someone. Raise the fee allocation during the offer stage, not after signing. Most employers experienced with E-3 sponsorship expect to cover these.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages your LCA filing with the DOL and prepares your full consulate package. This keeps the process moving without stalling on employer HR teams unfamiliar with E-3 requirements.
Prepare for nonimmigrant intent questions as a leader
Consular officers sometimes probe Team Lead applicants more closely on long-term intent given seniority. Have a clear, honest account of your U.S. role scope and your ties to Australia ready before your visa interview.
E-3 Visa Team Lead: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Team Lead jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Team Lead roles filtered by E-3 visa sponsorship. Most general job boards don't let you filter by visa type, so you end up manually vetting every listing. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have demonstrated sponsorship willingness, saving you the back-and-forth of asking companies whether they'll sponsor an E-3.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Team Lead role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on the job's technical requirements, not the title. A Team Lead in software engineering, financial analysis, or a clinical setting typically qualifies because the role requires a degree in a specific field. A general operations supervisor role with no field-specific degree requirement is harder to support. The job description must show that a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is a genuine requirement, not just a preference.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Australian Team Lead applicants?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but it has no lottery and no annual numerical cap, so you can apply any time of year and receive a decision within weeks of your consulate interview. The H-1B requires winning a randomized lottery with roughly a one-in-four chance of selection. For a Team Lead role that qualifies as a specialty occupation, the E-3 is a faster and far more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Team Lead?
Yes to both, but each requires action. Changing employers means your new employer files a fresh LCA and you attend a new consulate interview or pursue a change of status if you're already in the U.S. A promotion that changes your job title or duties significantly may also require an updated LCA to reflect the new role, even with the same employer. Don't assume your existing E-3 automatically covers a substantially different position.
