SoundOn is TikTok's official, all-in-one music distribution and marketing platform. Launched in 2021, it is designed to empower artists and labels by providing a direct route to TikTok's massive ecosystem while also distributing music to all major global streaming services. We are looking for an experienced strategic Platform Product Operations Manager to lead projects and help scale our user operations team. In this role, you will design and execute the overarching user operations strategy for our music distribution platform. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of artists and record labels—from onboarding and music distribution to royalty payouts—ensuring a seamless, high-satisfaction, and low-churn experience.
- Lead End-to-End User Operations Strategy: Own the complete lifecycle operations for artists and record labels (onboarding, release distribution, and financial settlement), proactively resolving bottleneck issues to drive user satisfaction and retention.
- Establish Issue Resolution & Incident Mechanisms: Build and refine rapid-response workflows to monitor and address distribution anomalies (including metadata errors, DSP rejections, copyright disputes, and takedowns), coordinating internal and external resources for swift resolution.
- Drive Product Optimization via User Feedback: Develop deep empathy for artist and label pain points; establish a robust feedback loop to translate high-frequency inquiries and user friction into structured product requirements, driving continuous product iterations.
- Build Operational Infrastructure & Self-Service Tools: Strategize and build efficient internal admin consoles and user-facing self-service diagnostics tools to improve troubleshooting efficiency, minimize manual intervention, and provide timely support.
- Monitor User Health & Retention: Establish a data-driven user health monitoring system; analyze usage patterns to identify at-risk users early, and design targeted reactivation and retention initiatives.
- Team Leadership & Standardization: Build, mentor, and manage the user operations team; establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for issue resolution, and elevate the team's domain expertise in music distribution and customer service.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in User Operations, Customer Success, or Account Management within the tech/SaaS sector, with 2+ years in team leadership experience
- User-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy and sharp user insight, with the ability to think from the perspective of artists and labels, and a genuine passion for solving complex, professional user pain points.
- Analytical & Systems Thinking: Strong logical analysis and system-thinking capabilities; able to identify systemic risks within the distribution pipeline and implement fundamental, long-term solutions.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Outstanding communication and coordination skills, with a proven track record of effectively collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Business Development teams to resolve issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the music industry, creator economy, or SaaS platforms is highly preferred.
- Direct operational experience within a music distribution platform, with familiarity in industry standards such as DDEX, ISRC, and UPC.
- Experience building a User Operations/Customer Success department or system from 0 to 1.
- Experience in handling large-scale user complaints, public relations crises, or high-risk policy incidents.
- Passion for Music: A genuine love for music, with a strong understanding of—or a continuous desire to learn about—music creation, digital distribution, and the copyright ecosystem.

Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 visa purposes. Get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved service before applying so employers don't stall on qualification questions.
Target companies with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data for Platform Product Manager or similar titles. Companies that have filed LCAs before understand the process and won't treat your E-3 request as an unknown compliance burden.
Frame sponsorship as employer paperwork, not visa complexity
The E-3 doesn't require a lottery slot or PERM labor certification. When you raise sponsorship, emphasise that the employer files an LCA with DOL and you attend a consulate appointment, the process is straightforward for both sides.
Confirm the role's specialty occupation standing before accepting
Platform Product Manager positions typically qualify, but if the job description lists 'bachelor's degree preferred' rather than required, USCIS may push back. Ask the hiring manager to confirm the role requires a specific degree field before you sign an offer.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service after your offer is signed
Once you have an offer letter, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. The LCA must be certified by DOL before your consulate appointment, so starting immediately after signing protects your start date.
Plan your consulate appointment around your notice period
E-3 interviews are processed at Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth consulates. Appointment wait times vary by location and season, so book as soon as your LCA is certified to avoid gaps between your Australian resignation and your U.S. start date.
E-3 Visa Platform Product Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Platform Product Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Use Migrate Mate to search Platform Product Manager roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with LCA filing history in this role category, so you're applying to companies already familiar with the process rather than educating hiring managers from scratch.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Platform Product Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, in most cases. Platform Product Manager positions typically require a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as computer science, engineering, or business, meeting the specialty occupation standard. The risk arises when a job description lists the degree as preferred rather than required. Review the posting carefully and ask the recruiter to confirm the degree requirement before your employer files the LCA with DOL.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Platform Product Manager roles?
The E-3 has no lottery and no annual cap that realistically fills, so an employer can sponsor you at any time of year without waiting for an April registration window. The H-1B visa requires a lottery selection before any petition can be filed. For Platform Product Managers who already have an offer, the E-3 path is faster and more predictable, approval depends on your qualifications and the role, not chance.
Can I change employers or get promoted while on an E-3 as a Platform Product Manager?
Yes, but each employer change requires a new LCA filed with DOL and a new visa stamp if your current stamp has expired or lists the previous employer. A promotion within the same company that changes your job title or duties significantly may also require an updated LCA. Your E-3 status is tied to a specific employer and role, not open employment authorization, so start the process as soon as an offer is confirmed.
