Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Quality Assurance Analyst
Match your degree to the QA role
E-3 requires your bachelor's degree field to align with the specific job. A degree in computer science, software engineering, or information systems supports most QA Analyst roles. A general business degree alone can trigger an RFE, so frame your credentials precisely.
Target employers with active LCA histories
Employers who have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for QA or software roles already understand the E-3 process. Search DOL's OFLC disclosure data to identify companies with recent LCA filings under relevant Standard Occupational Classification codes before you apply.
Request the job description include degree requirements
Your employer's LCA filing depends on the role being a specialty occupation. Confirm the posted job description explicitly states a bachelor's degree in a specific field is required, not just preferred. 'Preferred' language can undermine your visa eligibility at the consulate.
Get the LCA certified before your interview date
Your employer must obtain a certified LCA from DOL before you can attend your consulate appointment. DOL typically certifies LCAs within seven business days, but scheduling delays can compound. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to manage the LCA submission and visa paperwork on your employer's timeline.
Prepare CQPA or ISTQB credentials for harder cases
If your bachelor's degree is in a loosely related field, professional certifications like ISTQB can strengthen the specialty occupation argument at the consulate. Consular officers in Sydney and Melbourne assess qualifications on the merits presented, so a certification makes your case more concrete.
Clarify your start date around the LCA wage period
The LCA your employer files certifies a specific prevailing wage and employment start period. If your actual start date shifts after the LCA is submitted, USCIS and DOL require a new or amended filing. Confirm your intended start date with your employer before the LCA is lodged.

Find Quality Assurance Analyst JobsQuality Assurance Analyst E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Quality Assurance Analyst jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is built specifically to surface U.S. employers with E-3 visa sponsorship history for roles like Quality Assurance Analyst. Standard job boards don't filter by visa type, so you end up cold-applying to employers who have never filed an LCA. Migrate Mate narrows the field to companies already familiar with the E-3 process, which significantly shortens your search.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Quality Assurance Analyst role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the role requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field, typically computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a closely related discipline. The key test is whether the degree requirement is genuinely tied to the job duties, not just listed as a preference. Roles that accept any degree field are harder to qualify, so ensure the job description is specific.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Quality Assurance Analyst positions?
The E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted, meaning there is no lottery and no random selection. The H-1B is subject to an oversubscribed lottery with a roughly 25% selection rate in recent years. For Australian QA professionals, the E-3 is a direct path to employment without the uncertainty of being deregistered before you even apply. Renewals are also indefinite under E-3 as long as you remain employed.
Can I change employers while on an E-3 as a Quality Assurance Analyst?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new visa stamp issued at a consulate if your current stamp has expired. Unlike H-1B, there is no portability provision that lets you start work while a transfer petition is pending. Time your transition carefully to avoid a gap between your current employer's LCA end date and your new employer's certified LCA.
