Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as an Events Manager
Frame your degree for specialty occupation
U.S. consular officers assess whether your role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree. Document that your Events Manager position demands specialized knowledge in logistics, contract negotiation, or budget management, not just general coordination experience.
Target employers with dedicated events functions
Convention centers, hotel groups, corporate event agencies, and universities run in-house events teams that file E-3 visa LCAs regularly. These employers already understand the process, which shortens your path from offer to approved visa.
Clarify the LCA timeline before accepting an offer
Your employer files the LCA with DOL before you can lodge your visa application. Ask hiring managers upfront whether their HR or legal team has handled E-3 filings before, since first-time sponsors often underestimate the preparation time.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for the paperwork
The LCA, DS-160, and consulate preparation involve coordinated deadlines that catch many first-time applicants off guard. Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service manages the entire process from offer to consulate appointment so nothing falls through the gaps.
Prepare an Australian credential equivalency statement
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree, but consular officers can ask for clarification. Have your academic transcripts and a written equivalency statement ready before your interview.
Address contract and freelance work history carefully
Events Managers often have project-based or freelance backgrounds. Structure your employment history to show continuous, relevant experience in your application materials, since gaps or non-traditional arrangements can prompt additional scrutiny at the consulate.
E-3 Visa Events Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Events Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Events Manager roles from employers who are open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not cold-filtering thousands of postings. The E-3 requires a job offer before you can apply, so targeting employers already familiar with the visa process saves significant time. Search by role and location to find relevant openings directly.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does an Events Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It can, but the role description matters. The position must normally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as hospitality management, communications, marketing, or business. A generic coordinator title without degree requirements in the job posting may not satisfy the specialty occupation standard, so the offer letter wording is important.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Events Manager roles?
The E-3 is only available to Australian citizens, but it has no annual cap and no lottery, so you can apply at any point during the year. The H-1B visa is subject to an annual lottery with limited slots and typically takes months longer to process. For Australians, the E-3 is a significantly more reliable path into a U.S. Events Manager role.
Can I change employers or roles while on an E-3 in events?
Yes, but each new employer must file a fresh LCA with DOL and you'll need a new E-3 visa stamp if you leave the U.S. or, in some cases, complete a change of status domestically. Moving between event types, such as from corporate events to nonprofit or hospitality, is generally fine as long as the new role still meets the specialty occupation standard.
