Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Field Sales Engineer
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian engineering degree satisfies the E-3 bachelor's degree requirement, but many U.S. hiring managers don't know this. Include your degree field and institution prominently so recruiters can confirm specialty occupation eligibility without extra back-and-forth.
Target employers with active LCA filing history
Search the DOL's public LCA disclosure data for companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for engineering or sales engineer roles. Prior LCA filings signal that the employer already understands the sponsorship process and won't stall at the offer stage.
Find E-3 Field Sales Engineer jobs on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to search Field Sales Engineer roles filtered by E-3 sponsorship. Employers listed there are actively open to Australian candidates, which cuts out the upfront conversation about whether sponsorship is even possible.
Clarify territory scope before the offer stage
Field Sales Engineer roles often cover multi-state or national territories. Your E-3 LCA is tied to the employer's listed worksite. If your role requires frequent work at client sites across states, confirm with your employer how the LCA will handle that before paperwork is filed.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for LCA and visa paperwork
Once you have an offer, Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service handles LCA submission to the DOL, visa application preparation, and consulate appointment readiness. This removes the filing burden from both you and an employer who may be unfamiliar with the E-3 process.
Address the specialty occupation question proactively
Field Sales Engineer roles can face scrutiny if the job description emphasizes sales targets over technical duties. Make sure your offer letter and LCA job description reflect the engineering analysis, solution design, and technical consultation work you'll perform, not just revenue responsibilities.

Find Field Sales Engineer JobsField Sales Engineer E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I find Field Sales Engineer jobs with E-3 sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to search Field Sales Engineer roles where employers are already open to E-3 sponsorship. Because the E-3 is exclusively for Australian nationals and requires no lottery, many employers who have never sponsored an H-1B will consider it once they understand the process is straightforward.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Field Sales Engineer role qualify as a specialty occupation for E-3 purposes?
Yes, Field Sales Engineer roles typically qualify because the position requires applying specialized engineering or technical knowledge to evaluate client needs, design solutions, and support complex product implementations. The job description must reflect these technical duties. Roles where any business degree qualifies, or where sales activities dominate over engineering tasks, can face additional scrutiny during the LCA review.
How does the E-3 compare to H-1B for Field Sales Engineers?
The E-3 has no annual lottery and no cap that Australian nationals realistically hit, so you can start after receiving an offer rather than waiting for a selection result. H-1B registration closes in March with a lottery draw in April, creating a year-long delay for cap-subject petitions. For Field Sales Engineers with an imminent U.S. opportunity, the E-3 timeline is substantially faster.
What happens to my E-3 status if my employer changes my sales territory or role?
Material changes to your job duties, title, or primary worksite require a new or amended LCA before they take effect. Moving to a different state or taking on a significantly different role without updating your LCA puts your E-3 status at risk. Your employer should file an updated LCA with the DOL and notify USCIS of any substantive role changes before implementing them.
