E-3 Visa Project Accountant Jobs
Project Accountant roles in construction, infrastructure, and professional services qualify as E-3 visa specialty occupations, giving Australian professionals a direct path to U.S. employment without lottery risk. Employers in this field are increasingly open to E-3 sponsorship because the process is faster and cheaper than H-1B visa, and renewals are indefinite as long as you hold the role.

Translate your Australian credentials before applying
U.S. hiring managers may not recognize CPA (Australia) or CA ANZ designations. Spell out what each credential covers and note that your Australian bachelor's degree satisfies the E-3 specialty occupation requirement the same as a four-year U.S. degree.
Target industries with high LCA filing volume
Construction management firms, engineering consultancies, and government contractors file LCAs regularly and already have processes for specialty occupation roles. Targeting these sectors cuts the time from offer to certified LCA compared to employers new to sponsorship.
Ask employers about LCA timelines at offer stage
DOL certifies most LCAs within seven business days, but employers unfamiliar with the process often underestimate internal legal review time. Raise the timeline early so your start date accounts for LCA certification before you attend your consulate appointment.
Search for Project Accountant roles with E-3 sponsorship on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters roles by employers willing to sponsor E-3 visas, so you're not cold-applying to companies that have never filed. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork once you have an offer confirmed.
Clarify your job description covers specialty occupation criteria
A Project Accountant title alone doesn't guarantee E-3 approval. Your offer letter and job description should specify that the role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, not just general numeracy or business administration.
Prepare your visa documents for consulate review in advance
Australian consulates process E-3 applications in Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth. Bring your certified LCA, offer letter, degree transcripts, and DS-160 confirmation. Gaps in any document are the most common cause of same-day administrative processing delays.
E-3 Visa Project Accountant: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Project Accountant jobs that offer E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists Project Accountant roles from employers already open to E-3 sponsorship, so you're not spending time screening companies unfamiliar with the visa. Search by role and location, then apply directly through the platform. Because the E-3 has no annual cap or lottery, employers can move quickly once they're willing to sponsor.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Project Accountant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3 visa?
Yes, provided the role genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a closely related field. The key is that the degree requirement must be specific to the discipline, not a general business degree. USCIS looks at the job description, not just the title, so your offer letter should state the degree requirement explicitly.
How does the E-3 visa compare to the H-1B for Project Accountant roles?
The E-3 has a 10,500-slot annual allocation that has never been fully used, meaning there's no lottery and no waiting period. H-1B registration results in roughly a 25-30% selection rate, and unselected applicants must wait until the following fiscal year. For Australian Project Accountants, the E-3 is a significantly more predictable path to U.S. employment.
Can I switch Project Accountant employers after I'm in the U.S. on an E-3?
Yes, but you need a new LCA certified by DOL and a new E-3 visa stamp before you start with the new employer. If you're already in the U.S., you can change roles once the new LCA is certified and your new employer has a valid offer in place. You don't need to return to Australia to begin the new LCA process, but you will need to attend a consulate appointment for the new visa stamp before or during your next trip abroad.
