Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Strategic Finance Manager
Frame your credentials for specialty occupation
Australian three-year bachelor's degrees in finance, accounting, or economics satisfy E-3 visa specialty occupation requirements. Get your academic transcripts ready and confirm your degree field aligns directly with the strategic finance scope your offer letter describes.
Target finance teams with existing LCA history
Search DOL's Office of Foreign Labor Certification disclosure data to identify companies that have filed Labor Condition Applications for finance manager roles. Prior LCA activity signals a team that understands the E-3 process and won't delay your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsoring employers
Finding Strategic Finance Manager roles with confirmed E-3 sponsorship is harder than finding open roles generally. Migrate Mate surfaces employers with active E-3 hiring history, so you're applying to companies already equipped to file your paperwork.
Address dual intent before your interview
The E-3 is a nonimmigrant visa, so consular officers will probe your intent to return to Australia. Prepare a clear, honest account of your ties and career rationale before your interview, not after you receive a 221(g) administrative processing notice.
Confirm your offer letter specifies a degree requirement
Your employer's offer letter must describe the role as requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific field. A letter that says 'preferred' instead of 'required' can trigger an LCA or consular issue, so ask HR to revise the language before filing.
File your LCA and visa paperwork through one service
The E-3 process runs from LCA submission to DOL through to your consulate appointment. Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork so nothing falls between your employer's HR team and the consulate deadline.
E-3 Visa Strategic Finance Manager: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Strategic Finance Manager jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Most job postings don't explicitly advertise E-3 sponsorship, so searching general boards by title alone wastes time. Migrate Mate filters for employers with confirmed E-3 hiring activity, letting you focus on Strategic Finance Manager roles at companies already set up to file your LCA and support your consulate appointment.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Strategic Finance Manager role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
Yes, provided the position requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field such as finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related discipline. Roles that accept any degree regardless of field can fail the specialty occupation test at the consulate, so the offer letter must specify the degree requirement explicitly.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Strategic Finance Manager roles?
The H-1B visa requires entering a lottery with roughly a one-in-four selection chance, while the E-3 has a 10,500 annual allocation that has never been exhausted. For Australian professionals, this means no lottery risk, faster timelines from offer to start date, and an easier conversation with finance employers who are already wary of H-1B uncertainty.
Can I switch employers while on an E-3 as a Strategic Finance Manager?
Yes, but you cannot start work with a new employer until they file a new, certified LCA with DOL and you obtain a new E-3 visa stamp or, where available, complete a change of status. There is no portability provision like AC21 for the E-3, so plan your transition timeline carefully with your new employer before resigning.
