Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding E-3 Visa Sponsorship as a Financial Consultant
Translate your Australian credentials for U.S. employers
A three-year Australian bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is generally accepted as equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree for E-3 specialty occupation purposes. Get a credential evaluation letter ready before you start applying.
Target firms with established E-3 filing history
Focus on financial services firms, consulting practices, and multinational banks that have sponsored Australian professionals before. Employers already familiar with the LCA process move faster and make fewer errors in your filing.
Search for E-3 sponsorship roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Financial Consultant listings by verified E-3 sponsorship willingness, so you're not cold-pitching roles where the employer hasn't committed. Use it to build a shortlist before reaching out.
Clarify the specialty occupation requirement upfront
Not every financial consultant role qualifies for E-3 status. Your offer letter must reflect that the position requires a specific degree in finance, accounting, or economics. A generalist role open to any graduate typically won't clear the DOL's specialty occupation threshold.
Confirm your employer files the LCA before your start date
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL before you can attend your consulate interview. Build at least three to four weeks of LCA processing time into your start date negotiation to avoid rescheduling conflicts.
Use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service for end-to-end support
Once you have an offer, use Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service to handle your LCA and visa paperwork. It covers the full process from offer acceptance through consulate appointment, including document preparation and DS-160 guidance.

Find Financial Consultant JobsFinancial Consultant E-3 Visa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I find Financial Consultant jobs with E-3 visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate is the recommended starting point. It surfaces Financial Consultant roles where employers have indicated E-3 sponsorship willingness, which saves significant time compared to screening generic job listings. From there, prioritize firms in financial services, management consulting, and multinational corporations, since those sectors have the most experience managing the LCA filing process for Australian candidates.
How much does it cost to get an E-3 visa?
Migrate Mate's E-3 filing service covers the entire process for $499, including the Labor Condition Application, visa document preparation, and consulate appointment guidance. Traditional immigration lawyers charge $2,000–$5,000+ for the same work. The E-3 has less paperwork than most work visas, so paying thousands for legal help is usually unnecessary.
Does a Financial Consultant role qualify as a specialty occupation for the E-3?
It depends on how the role is defined in the offer letter. A financial consultant position qualifies when it requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as finance, accounting, or economics. Roles framed as open to any business graduate, or where the degree requirement is listed as preferred rather than required, are more likely to face scrutiny from the DOL during the LCA review process.
How does the E-3 compare to the H-1B for Financial Consultant roles?
The E-3 is available only to Australian citizens, but for those who qualify it has significant structural advantages over the H-1B. There is no annual lottery, no cap, and the employer can file an LCA and get you a consulate appointment within weeks rather than waiting for a registration window. Renewals are indefinite in two-year increments as long as you hold a qualifying role, so there is no built-in deadline to resolve.
Can I switch Financial Consultant employers after my E-3 is approved?
Yes, but the E-3 is employer-specific, so your new employer must file a fresh LCA and you'll need to apply for a new E-3 at a U.S. consulate or apply for a change of status if you're already inside the United States. There is no portability provision like the one that exists for H-1B holders under AC21. Plan for a processing gap and negotiate your start date with the new employer accordingly.
