Location: St. Louis, MOPosition OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality educational services to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher supports the academic, social, and behavioral development of students with diverse learning needs. This role requires a strong commitment to collaboration, individualized instruction, and student success.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver specialized instruction to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational plans and goals.Provide tutorial assistance and targeted interventions to support student achievement.Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families to ensure student success.Participate in planning, implementation, and evaluation of student programs and services.Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching methods to meet individual student needs.Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district requirements.Monitor student progress and communicate outcomes to families and educational team members.Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student growth and independence.Attend and actively participate in team meetings, professional development, and required trainings.QualificationsBachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.Valid Missouri teaching certification with Special Education endorsement, or ability to obtain appropriate certification.Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to supporting the educational and developmental needs of students with diverse abilities.
