Electrical Engineer Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a electrical engineer in Arkansas?
Becoming a licensed electrical engineer in Arkansas requires passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam after earning a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program, then gaining supervised work experience before sitting for the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam. The Arkansas State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors issues the Professional Engineer credential. Many employers hire engineering graduates as Engineers in Training while they complete the experience requirement toward full licensure.
How much do electrical engineers make in Arkansas?
Electrical engineers in Arkansas earn a median of about $96,860 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $67,920 for the lowest 10% to over $136,770 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire electrical engineers in Arkansas?
Arkansas electrical engineer roles are posted by LANXESS, Garver, and Jobot and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of electric utilities, defense contractors, and industrial manufacturers means openings appear across a wide range of employer sizes and sectors throughout the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most electrical engineer jobs?
El Dorado, North Little Rock, and Rogers lead Arkansas for electrical engineer openings. Little Rock concentrates utility and government-adjacent work, Fort Smith draws from its industrial and manufacturing base along the Arkansas River corridor, and Fayetteville benefits from the University of Arkansas research ecosystem and the growing northwest Arkansas commercial and logistics sector that has attracted large employers to the region.
Are there remote electrical engineer jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, but they're rare. About 10% of electrical engineer openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the hands-on, site-dependent nature of most electrical engineering work. The roles most likely to offer remote flexibility are those focused on design review, documentation, standards compliance, or project management rather than field installation or equipment commissioning.
How can I get hired as a electrical engineer in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to utilities and large industrial employers in Arkansas that run structured new-graduate programs, such as Entergy Arkansas, which recruits engineering graduates into rotational or development roles. Entry-level titles like electrical designer, junior controls engineer, or field engineering technician give candidates without full experience a foothold. Completing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam before graduation and building a portfolio of AutoCAD or ETAP project work significantly strengthens applications at Arkansas employers that require eventual licensure.
Where can I find and apply to electrical engineer jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to electrical engineer jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and target location, and apply directly to each position.
