Manufacturing Engineer Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a manufacturing engineer in Arkansas?
Manufacturing engineers in Arkansas are not required to hold a state-issued professional license for most industry roles, so the standard path is a bachelor's degree in manufacturing, mechanical, or industrial engineering from an accredited program. Graduates who pursue licensure as a Professional Engineer may sit for the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and later the Principles and Practice exam through the Arkansas State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors. Most private-sector employers prioritize relevant internship experience and certifications such as Six Sigma over licensure.
How much do manufacturing engineers make in Arkansas?
Manufacturing engineers in Arkansas earn a median of about $98,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $71,880 for the lowest 10% to over $137,520 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire manufacturing engineers in Arkansas?
Arkansas manufacturing engineer roles are posted by L3Harris, Raytheon, and Georgia-Pacific and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of aerospace, food processing, and electrical equipment manufacturing means openings tend to be distributed among both large anchor employers and their regional suppliers throughout the state.
Which Arkansas cities have the most manufacturing engineer jobs?
Camden, Fort Smith, and Jonesboro consistently post the most manufacturing engineer openings in Arkansas. Little Rock draws roles tied to defense contractors and diversified manufacturing, Fort Smith is anchored by metal fabrication, furniture, and industrial equipment producers, and the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers corridor benefits from the dense supplier base that has grown around major food and consumer-goods operations in northwest Arkansas.
Are there remote manufacturing engineer jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, but they're rare. Manufacturing engineering is fundamentally a hands-on discipline tied to physical production lines, tooling, and equipment, so most roles require an on-site presence. About 0% of manufacturing engineer openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to involve process documentation, supplier quality audits, or engineering systems work that can be performed off the floor.
How can I get hired as a manufacturing engineer in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for manufacturing engineer associate or junior process engineer roles at Arkansas's larger industrial employers, where structured onboarding programs exist for recent graduates. Dassault Falcon Jet in Little Rock and Baldor Electric in Fort Smith have historically brought on new engineers through co-op and early-career pipelines. Candidates who have completed an accredited engineering internship, earned a Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification, or worked in adjacent roles such as quality technician or production supervisor carry a clear advantage in a competitive applicant pool.
Where can I find and apply to manufacturing engineer jobs in Arkansas?
