ABOUT THE UNIT:
The Emergency Department (ED) at Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is a dynamic and fast-paced 39-bed unit providing essential urgent and emergent health care services to our community, with over 47,000 patient visits annually. Recognized for its excellence, our ED holds a Level 4 Provisional Trauma Center designation and is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. These accolades highlight our commitment to delivering specialized and timely care for cardiac and cerebrovascular emergencies. Our team of skilled healthcare professionals works collaboratively in a supportive environment, equipped with state-of-the-art technology to manage a wide range of medical emergencies. Our department emphasizes continuous professional development and a culture of teamwork, ensuring high-quality care for every patient, every day.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Emergency Department Unit Secretary/Patient Care Assistant provides clerical, communication, operational, and direct patient care support to promote safe, efficient, and timely patient care within the Emergency Department. This dual-role position is responsible for maintaining accurate patient tracking and medical records, facilitating communication among the healthcare team, processing physician communication requests, managing unit equipment and supplies, and supporting daily department operations while also providing safe patient care within the scope of the Patient Care Assistant role when assigned to clinical responsibilities. The Unit Secretary/Patient Care Assistant collaborates closely with nurses, providers, EMS, ancillary departments, patients, and families to support patient flow, departmental goals, and high-quality patient care delivery.
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Preferred
1 Year Related Experience Preferred
