Engineering Jobs in Marietta: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering job in Marietta?
Focus your search on the defense contractors and aerospace firms anchored near Dobbins Air Reserve Base, the civil and infrastructure engineering firms working Cobb County's ongoing transportation and development projects, and the manufacturing operations in the Windy Hill and Franklin Road corridors. Candidates with experience in systems engineering, civil design, or aerospace manufacturing have a clear edge locally. Targeting employers embedded in these sectors gives you the strongest foothold in Marietta's market.
Which companies hire engineerings in Marietta?
Employers hiring engineerings in Marietta right now include Lockheed Martin, RMS Installs, and Pike Corporation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Marietta's employer base skews heavily toward defense primes and subcontractors, civil engineering consultancies serving Cobb County growth, and precision manufacturing operations that have operated in the area for decades.
Are there remote engineering jobs in Marietta?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on role type: design, analysis, and systems engineering work can go remote, while hands-on manufacturing, site, and field engineering roles almost always require on-site presence. About 100% of engineering openings tied to Marietta are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with the majority of those concentrated in software-adjacent and analytical engineering disciplines rather than in the defense production or civil construction sectors that dominate the local market.
How can I get a engineering job in Marietta with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Marietta is through co-op or internship programs tied to the defense and aerospace contractors near Dobbins Air Reserve Base, many of which convert strong performers into full-time roles. Entry-level civil engineering positions with firms supporting Cobb County's infrastructure projects are another active pipeline, particularly for candidates with AutoCAD or civil design coursework. Certifications in CAD software, EIT status, or coursework aligned to aerospace manufacturing processes will set you apart with Marietta employers.
