Job Details:
Job Purpose/Summary:
The Engineering PMO team is responsible for governing capital programs and projects, maintaining the systems and reporting infrastructure that provide visibility into project status and capital spend, and ensuring engineering documentation and standards remain consistent and accessible across the organization. This role backfills critical PMO, capital governance, and engineering systems support following a recent vacancy, providing structured oversight as capital volume and complexity continue to grow across Fresh Meats. The PMO will administer stage gate governance and project tracking platforms, build and maintain dashboards that support accurate capital forecasting and leadership reporting, and lead document and drawing control to ensure consistency across engineering teams. This position also serves as backup PMO support for the Prepared Foods engineering team and drives the identification and implementation of AI-enabled tools that improve efficiency in day-to-day engineering operations. By owning PMO systems, reporting infrastructure, and process improvements, this role enables engineers and Associate Directors to focus on execution rather than administrative and data-management responsibilities, making it a capability role that improves execution at scale across four value pillars: capital governance, engineering systems, technical infrastructure, and future enablement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and enforce the stage gate process across all capital projects.
- Administer and maintain Autodesk Forma (or an equivalent platform) for project tracking and coordination.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for project status tracking, capital spend visibility, and portfolio execution metrics.
- Support capital forecasting and budget tracking, ensuring alignment to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and leadership reporting.
- Lead document management and file governance, including centralized storage, version control, and accessibility across engineering teams.
- Provide expertise in AutoCAD and drawing file management, including drawing standards and file structure organization.
- Drive the standardization of engineering processes and deliverables across Fresh Meats.
- Provide backup PMO support to the Prepared Foods engineering team, including stage gate coordination, reporting, and systems support.
- Identify and implement AI-driven solutions to automate administrative tasks, improve data visibility and reporting, and enhance engineering workflow efficiency.
- Enable project engineers to focus on execution by owning PMO systems, reporting infrastructure, and process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, PMO operations, or capital project governance, preferably within manufacturing or production environments.
- Demonstrated experience administering and enforcing stage gate or capital governance processes.
- Proficiency with project tracking and coordination platforms such as Autodesk Forma, MS Project, or equivalent.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with experience in drawing file management, drawing standards, and file structure organization.
- Experience establishing and maintaining document control and file governance, including centralized storage, version control, and accessibility.
- Proficient in the use of data visualization platforms such as Power BI to build dashboards and reporting tools.
- Experience supporting capital forecasting and budget tracking, including alignment to an Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and a demonstrated ability to identify and implement solutions that automate tasks and improve workflow efficiency.
- Excellent skills in standard computer software, including spreadsheet and presentation software.
- An organized and process-minded approach to solving problems, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguous environments.
- Ability to clearly “tell the story” and tailor messaging to engineers, Associate Directors, leadership, and stakeholders, including executive levels of leadership.
- Understanding of interdependencies between technology, operations, and engineering.
- Understanding and knowledge of food production processes and solutions is desired.

Engineering Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a engineering manager in Arkansas?
The most direct path is to build several years of hands-on engineering experience before stepping into a leadership role. Arkansas does not require a separate state management license for engineering managers, but candidates in roles with direct engineering sign-off responsibilities may benefit from holding or pursuing licensure through the Arkansas State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. Most employers in Arkansas prioritize a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline combined with demonstrated team leadership.
Which companies hire engineering managers in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring engineering managers in Arkansas include Walmart, L3Harris, and OTIS, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of defense contractors, retail technology operations, and manufacturing facilities creates consistent demand for engineering leadership at multiple seniority levels.
Which Arkansas cities have the most engineering manager jobs?
Bentonville, Fort Smith, and Camden account for the largest concentration of engineering manager openings in Arkansas. Little Rock anchors the market as the state capital and home to corporate technology and infrastructure employers, while Fayetteville benefits from the University of Arkansas research ecosystem and Walmart's vast supplier and technology network, and Fort Smith draws manufacturing and defense-related engineering leadership roles.
Are there remote engineering manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely software-focused fields, since engineering managers in Arkansas frequently oversee on-site manufacturing, facilities, or hardware teams. About 13% of engineering manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, skewing toward companies with distributed software or systems engineering teams rather than production floor or infrastructure-heavy operations.
How can I get hired as a engineering manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is moving into a lead engineer or senior individual contributor role first, then building internal visibility before stepping into formal management. Large Arkansas employers in manufacturing and logistics, including distribution and supply chain operations tied to Northwest Arkansas, frequently promote high-performing engineers from within. Earning a Professional Engineer license through the Arkansas State Board of Licensure strengthens a promotion case significantly, as does taking on project coordination or mentorship responsibilities in your current role.
Where can I find and apply to engineering manager jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to engineering manager jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state's major hiring metros and industries. Find roles that fit your experience and specialization and apply directly to each employer through the listings.
