Entry Level Engineering Program Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level engineering program manager job?
Focus on demonstrating cross-functional coordination skills, even from internships, class projects, or part-time work. Employers at this level look for candidates who can track deliverables, communicate across teams, and use project management tools like Jira or Asana. A structured internship in an engineering environment, a PMP Fundamentals certificate, or a senior capstone project that shows end-to-end program thinking will give you a clear edge over candidates with only a degree.
Which companies hire entry level engineering program managers?
Companies hiring entry level engineering program managers right now include Apple, University of Utah, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from large technology firms, defense contractors, and manufacturers that run structured new graduate rotational or associate program manager programs.
Are there remote entry level engineering program manager jobs?
Yes, though many entry level roles still prefer on-site or hybrid formats for new hires who benefit from in-person mentorship. About 21% of entry level engineering program manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so fully remote options exist but are not the majority at this experience level.
Are these new grad engineering program manager jobs?
Yes, the openings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior engineering program manager roles. A new-grad-friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internship or co-op work in place of full-time history, and does not require PMP certification. If a listing mentions a rotational program, associate program manager track, or explicitly invites new graduates to apply, it is built for candidates at this stage.
Which industries hire the most entry level engineering program managers?
Entry Level engineering program manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Electronics & Hardware, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive entry level hiring because they run large, parallel engineering workstreams that need junior program managers to coordinate timelines, manage documentation, and support senior program leads.
