Engineering Project Manager Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a engineering project manager job in Orlando?
Focus your search on Orlando's three dominant hiring sectors: defense and aerospace contractors clustered near UCF and the east side, large-scale construction and infrastructure firms serving the region's rapid growth, and theme park and hospitality engineering operations centered on I-Drive and the resort corridor. Candidates with PMP certification, experience managing multidiscipline teams, and familiarity with federal contracting or themed entertainment environments stand out in this market.
Which companies hire engineering project managers in Orlando?
Orlando engineering project manager roles are posted by Lockheed Martin, Siemens Energy, and AVCON and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. The local market is shaped by a mix of large defense primes, regional construction and infrastructure contractors, theme park operators, and utility companies tied to Florida's ongoing population and development boom.
Are there remote engineering project manager jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the specialization, since roles tied to construction sites, defense facilities, or theme park operations require significant on-site presence. About 100% of engineering project manager openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, skewing toward program coordination, systems engineering oversight, and technology infrastructure roles where hands-on site work is less constant.
How can I get a engineering project manager job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is through project coordinator or assistant project manager roles at regional construction firms and defense subcontractors, many of which are actively growing due to infrastructure investment and government contracts in the area. UCF's engineering programs and local industry partnerships also create pipelines into entry-level PM roles. Volunteering for cross-functional assignments, earning a CAPM or comparable credential, and gaining exposure to scheduling tools like Primavera or Microsoft Project sharpens your profile for local employers.
