Mid Level Enterprise Sales Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level enterprise sales engineer job?
Position your experience around outcomes you drove, not just tasks you completed. Highlight deals where you led the technical discovery, built the solution narrative, or handled objections that moved a complex sale forward. Employers at this level want to see that you can run a proof of concept, manage stakeholder relationships across a buying committee, and close without heavy oversight. Tailor your application to the specific product domain.
Which companies hire mid level enterprise sales engineers?
Companies hiring mid level enterprise sales engineers right now include Samsara, Datadog, and Workday, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Beyond those names, mid level hiring at this experience tier tends to come from high-growth software vendors, established infrastructure providers, and technology consultancies building out their pre-sales teams.
Are there remote mid level enterprise sales engineer jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are widely available at this level. About 55% of mid level enterprise sales engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have accepted distributed pre-sales work. Fully on-site roles do still exist, typically at companies that require regular on-site customer visits or hands-on lab environments.
How do I move up to a mid level enterprise sales engineer role?
Growth from entry level into a mid level enterprise sales engineer role comes from accumulating ownership, not just time. That means progressing from shadowing discovery calls to leading them, from supporting proofs of concept to designing them independently, and from following a pitch to shaping the technical narrative yourself. Employers look for a clear pattern of increasing scope, measurable deal contributions, and the ability to manage complexity across the sales cycle without prompting.
Which industries hire the most mid level enterprise sales engineers?
Mid Level enterprise sales engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Electronics & Hardware, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because their products carry enough technical depth and deal complexity to require a dedicated pre-sales professional who can engage credibly with both technical evaluators and business stakeholders.
