Environmental Compliance Inspector Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a environmental compliance inspector in Arkansas?
Most environmental compliance inspector positions in Arkansas require a bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, biology, or a closely related field. Arkansas does not issue a single state license specific to environmental compliance inspection, but many employers require or prefer candidates who hold certifications such as the Registered Environmental Manager credential or a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification. State agency positions through the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment may also require passing a civil service examination.
How much do environmental compliance inspectors make in Arkansas?
Environmental compliance inspectors in Arkansas earn a median of about $64,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,160 for the lowest 10% to over $132,760 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire environmental compliance inspectors in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring environmental compliance inspectors in Arkansas include Dassault Falcon Jet, Central Moloney, and Halff, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's strong industrial and agricultural base means inspectors are consistently needed across food processing, chemical manufacturing, and utility sectors.
Which Arkansas cities have the most environmental compliance inspector jobs?
Little Rock, Arkansas, and Pine Bluff have the most environmental compliance inspector openings in Arkansas. Little Rock leads because it is home to state regulatory agencies and a dense cluster of corporate headquarters, while Fayetteville and Fort Smith attract openings tied to manufacturing, poultry processing, and the expanding logistics corridor along Interstate 40.
Are there remote environmental compliance inspector jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, but they're rare. Environmental compliance inspection is fundamentally a field-based role that requires physical site visits, sampling, and on-site documentation, which limits remote work. About 11% of environmental compliance inspector openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve report writing, data review, or regulatory research rather than direct inspection duties.
How can I get hired as a environmental compliance inspector in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for environmental technician or environmental analyst roles at Arkansas state agencies, particularly the Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, which hires entry-level staff for monitoring and field sampling support. Internships with industrial facilities in the Arkansas River Valley or with environmental consulting firms based in Little Rock give hands-on exposure. Earning a 40-hour HAZWOPER certification before applying and completing coursework in GIS or environmental permitting software strengthens any entry-level application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to environmental compliance inspector jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to environmental compliance inspector jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arkansas openings across state agencies, industrial employers, and consulting firms. Search the listings to find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match your experience and location preferences.
