Entry Level Environmental Health And Safety Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level environmental health and safety job?
Start by earning a relevant degree in environmental science, occupational health, or a related field, then add certifications like OSHA 10 or 30 to stand out early. Internship experience, co-op placements, or volunteer safety committee work signal readiness to employers. Tailor your resume to show familiarity with hazard identification, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance, even from academic or lab settings.
Which companies hire entry level environmental health and safetys?
Companies hiring entry level environmental health and safetys right now include Jabil, Wabash, and Mittera, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Manufacturing, construction, logistics, and industrial services firms tend to hire at this level most actively, as they are required to maintain on-site safety programs and need junior staff to support compliance teams.
Are there remote entry level environmental health and safety jobs?
Yes, though most roles at this level are on-site given the hands-on nature of the work. About 4% of entry level environmental health and safety openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to focus on compliance documentation, data analysis, or training coordination rather than direct field inspection duties.
Are these new grad environmental health and safety jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles in environmental health and safety. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward the requirement, or lists a degree and foundational certifications as the main qualifications rather than extensive field experience. These are exactly the positions that suit candidates stepping into the field for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level environmental health and safetys?
Entry Level environmental health and safety roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Electronics & Hardware, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive demand at the junior level because federal and state safety regulations require dedicated compliance staff on-site, creating a steady need for new professionals who can learn workplace safety programs alongside experienced teams.
