Mid Level Environmental Health And Safety Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level environmental health and safety job?
Position your existing experience around ownership, not just participation. Highlight specific programs you managed, audits you led, or incidents you investigated from start to resolution. Certifications like CSP, CHMM, or 40-hour HAZWOPER training sharpen your profile considerably. Tailor your application to show measurable impact, such as reduced incident rates or regulatory compliance improvements, rather than listing duties alone.
Which companies hire mid level environmental health and safetys?
Companies hiring mid level environmental health and safetys right now include Environmental Resources Management, TMEIC, and Celanese, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from manufacturers, construction firms, utilities, and chemical companies with active regulatory obligations that require experienced on-site EHS professionals rather than generalists.
Are there remote mid level environmental health and safety jobs?
Yes, though the majority of mid level environmental health and safety roles are on-site given the hands-on nature of the work. About 9% of mid level environmental health and safety openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve program development, compliance consulting, training design, or EHS management system coordination rather than field inspections.
How do I move up to a mid level environmental health and safety role?
Growth from entry level to mid level in environmental health and safety comes from building depth across core areas like incident investigation, regulatory reporting, and hazard assessments while taking on progressively independent work. Pursuing a relevant certification, volunteering to lead audits, and documenting measurable outcomes, such as reduced OSHA recordables or successful permit renewals, signals readiness for greater ownership to hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most mid level environmental health and safetys?
Mid Level environmental health and safety roles concentrate in Manufacturing, Consulting & Professional Services, and Automotive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive consistent hiring at this level because they operate under stringent federal and state environmental regulations that require experienced EHS professionals managing compliance programs, not just supporting them.
