Job Overview
We are a growing septic tank installation company seeking a skilled, dependable Heavy Equipment Operator with a Class A CDL. In this role, you will operate a variety of earthmoving machinery to prepare sites, dig trenches, and install septic systems safely and efficiently. You will also drive and operate our fleet vehicles to transport equipment and materials to and from job sites. You must be able to drive a manual transmission!
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including mini excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and skid steers specifically for septic system installations and site preparation.
- Safely transport machinery, tanks, and materials to residential and commercial job sites using company transport vehicles.
- Drive manual transmission heavy trucks and haul trailers safely through various traffic and terrain conditions.
- Perform pre-and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety regulations.
- Assist ground crews with manual labor when necessary to ensure the successful and timely completion of septic installations.
Job Requirements
- License: Valid CDL Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Transmission: Must be able to drive a manual transmission (no automatic-only restrictions on your license).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment (excavators and backhoes preferred).
- Knowledge: Familiarity with excavation safety protocols, underground utility locating, and trenching standards.
- Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in Arizona weather conditions.
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
