Xemelgo is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Associate to join our expanding team. This visible, high-impact position involves working closely with the CFO/COO and plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting revenue operations, and helping to scale financial processes as the company grows. The job is perfect for someone early in their career who is interested in direct exposure to executive leadership and company financial strategy and seeks hands-on experience across all areas of accounting and finance associated with a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Revenue and Billing Operations

2. Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing

3. Partner with internal teams to validate billing data and contract terms
4. Track and follow up on overdue invoices; support collections efforts

5. Maintain customer billing records and resolve discrepancies

6. Accounting & Close Support

7. Perform account reconciliations (bank, AR, AP, and other balance sheet accounts)

8. Assist with month-end close processes

9. Maintain accurate financial records in accounting systems

10. Compliance & Tax Support

11. Assist with state and local tax filings (sales tax, franchise tax, etc.)

12. Support compliance requirements across multiple states

13. Help maintain documentation for audits and reporting

14. Process Improvement & Ad Hoc Projects

15. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and controls

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Proficiency in Excel
• Familiarity with accounting systems and tools, especially QuickBooks
• Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
• Proactively seeks out opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
• Demonstrates strong ownership of work and accountability for results
• Familiarity with CRMs, especially HubSpot, is a bonus

While not required, ideal candidates will have experience in a startup or high-growth environment and exposure to SaaS metrics (MRR, ARR, and revenue recognition).

Work Location and Schedule:

This is a hybrid role in Bellevue, WA: 2 days in-office.
