Entry Level Financial Data Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level financial data analyst job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for demonstrated ability over long experience. Build a portfolio with two or three projects that show you can clean, analyze, and visualize financial data using Excel, SQL, or Python. Internship experience, a finance or statistics degree, and familiarity with tools like Tableau or Power BI each give you a concrete edge when applying to junior roles.
Which companies hire entry level financial data analysts?
Companies hiring entry level financial data analysts right now include CVS Health, Kaiser Permanente, and DSV, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including large financial institutions, fintech startups, consulting firms, and corporate finance departments across industries.
Are there remote entry level financial data analyst jobs?
Yes, though the availability varies by employer and industry. About 27% of entry level financial data analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates who prefer flexible arrangements have real options. On-site roles remain common at banks and regional firms, while tech-forward and fintech employers tend to offer more remote flexibility at the entry level.
Are these new grad financial data analyst jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior financial data analyst roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and counts internships, academic projects, or a strong portfolio toward the requirement. Look for language like "entry level," "new graduates welcome," or "0-2 years" in the job description as a reliable signal.
Which industries hire the most entry level financial data analysts?
Entry Level financial data analyst roles concentrate in Insurance, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Banking & Financial Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors generate high volumes of financial data and routinely bring on junior analysts to support reporting, forecasting, and business intelligence work, making them reliable starting points for candidates entering the field.
