Entry Level Founding Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level founding engineer job?
Focus on demonstrating ownership and initiative rather than years of experience. Founding teams want engineers who can ship independently, so a portfolio of side projects, open-source contributions, or internship work that shows end-to-end problem solving gives you a real edge. Tailor your application to show comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to wear multiple hats from day one.
Which companies hire entry level founding engineers?
Companies hiring entry level founding engineers right now include CLERA, SentiLink, and Zeta Charter Schools, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Early-stage startups and seed-funded ventures make up the majority of this hiring, since they need generalist engineers who can grow into core technical roles as the product scales.
Are there remote entry level founding engineer jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles are still common at this stage since many early-stage teams prefer in-person collaboration. About 33% of entry level founding engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates in major tech hubs and those open to relocation will find the widest range of options.
Are these new grad founding engineer jobs?
Yes, many of these are new grad roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates and junior candidates. A new grad friendly posting typically accepts zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward the requirement, and values a strong portfolio over a long work history. Look for language like "early career," "junior," or "no experience required" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level founding engineers?
Entry Level founding engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Education, and Artificial Intelligence, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because high product velocity and small team sizes make it practical to bring on junior engineers who can take real ownership quickly rather than waiting for a large engineering org to onboard them.
